I think this movie is more like the extreme version of PTA's Punch Drunk-Love movie. A very well drafted and acted film. Adam Sandler proved himself once again as a true actor and it is a shame he doesnt get more roles like that. A shame that we get to see the actor Adam Sandler only every 5 years or so. This is surely his best performance and he deserves all awards attention he is getting for it. The film is generally very hectic and nervous, perfectly repressing the life and state of mind of its leading character. Sandler plays him so well and absolutely loses himself in that role. The Safdie brothers did a great job presenting us this world their protagonist is living in. Julia Fox also did a nice job, and is a very interesting new talent of which we will probably see more in the future. The score was truly amazing and captured the mood and atmosphere of the film perfectly. Its fantastic portrait of a truly "f!ck up" character, a character that has luck and misfortune on the same side and everything seems to break down on him within 24 hours. Its a modern tale in the tradition of "Taxi Driver" in some ways (although the characters are totally different and have different motivations. Really a gem.
My favorite part is when Adam mentions how taekwondo originated in Korea while cutting to Dae-su on the floor of the police box, kicking the officers away in a drunken stupor 🤣. Uncut gems (2019) full movie 123moviesovie 123movies.
