I really don't understand how so many people claim that this movie is "absolute perfection" and the "best movie of the year. Of course, anyone who has a brain can tell that these people are biased, but so much to the point of seeing past the tons of flaws that are so obvious in the movie? Before going to watch it, I figured I had to read the book just to make sure that I was not totally against the mainstream, preteen ideas about the book. And for the most part, the book was only okay at best. Sure some romance and suspense, but seriously, how many billions of times has that been done in books before this? I even remember back in grade school when I read Animorphs and I'm sad to say that was even better. It had suspense, action, drama, and even romance between the characters. Anyhow, the movie falls way short despite all the hype in the media and talk among teenage girls. The acting was less than sub-par, I was laughing for the most part at how terrible Pattinson and Stewart were. Obvious lack of experience in facial expressions and acting in general. Overuse of film techniques like the flickering and super closeups made me angry at the movie within twenty minutes. Also the deviation from the book seemed too much as they missed some small key elements that I felt were needed. I fail to see how this is the "perfect" movie of all time. Seriously, people need to watch a "GOOD MOVIE" before declaring Twilight with the best like Psycho, Shawshank redemption, or the godfather. Disappointing at best.
