Well, if you enjoyed the 1989 "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" movie then you will most definitely also enjoy the 1991 sequel "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. Why? Well, because this sequel carries on the spirit and essence of the first movie, but goes a step further and brings a bit more oddity and bizarre elements into the picture. For better or worse.
Now, the storyline in "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" is actually a bit more well-thought through in comparison to the 1989 movie. There is more depth to the elements in the storyline here, and there are more nuanced levels to the storyline. So "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" definitely offers a bit more than the previous movie did.
But at the same time this sequel takes the ridiculousness and absurdity to a level that wasn't achieved in the 1989 movie. And that is, of course, a matter of personal preference whether you like it or not. I enjoyed it, as it was done in an entertaining manner, and I think that the new levels of weirdness that "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" brought to the table definitely fit the movie franchise.
"Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" has some interesting and loveable characters. Of course there are Bill and Ted making their return, as portrayed by Alex Winter and Keaunu Reeves respectively. But the sequel also brings the likes of William Sadler, Joss Ackland and Pam Grier to the franchise. And of course you have George Carlin returning as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" and found it to be as enjoyable as the 1989 movie. My rating of this 1991 sequel is a six out of ten stars.
