First of all let me start by saying this film is in the elite list of best ever sequels. Only a few sequels in film history have been better than the first, this film is one of the best examples of that. The first in the trilogy was a solid movie, but what The Dark Knight did was take it to that next level, it brought in some of the best characters in a genius way and elevated it to a modern classic.
A lot of this films success is down to the perfect casting, Christian Bale reprising his role as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Heath Ledger taking on the Joker in what can be described as one of the best on screen performances in history, to Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox and Gary Oldman as James Gordon, although the last 3 characters are supporting, they truly do make the film and give you the heart of the movie.
What Christopher Nolan did when making this movie was redefine a genre, every comic book movie since has tried to do what he did with this movie but just hasn't been able to capture the same spark. There will always be Batman but I truly believe this will be the one everyone looks to for many years as the greatest of all.
The Dark Knight truly is a cinematic masterpiece.

Nolan and co have done it again! This is one of the best films of the year with a brilliant story, excellent acting, great cinematography by Wally Pfister and flawless directing by Christopher Nolan this Batman has it all, Christian Bale yet again a great Batman, Brilliant acting from Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart was better than Tommy Lee Jones at playing Two-Face and Heath Ledger was a bad ass Joker, better than Jack Nicholson (R.I.P Heath we will miss you. This probably the darkest Batman movie yet even darker than Batman Returns and the one of the best superhero movies ever made!
The Dark Knight gets a 10/10 from me.

Being a huge fan of superhero movies. Batman in particular has the right balance of amazing sound effects, score, visuals effects and all round action to keep my eyes glued to the screen and wanting more after the end of the film.
While most films are so focused on big explosions and sometimes an overload of special effects, this film manages to deliver great dialogue in between the action scenes and in doing so setting a good pace for the action to follow.
Going to recommend it to those who haven't see it yet. A definite must watch.
