This adds nothing new to the Superman legacy/mythos. This story has been been beaten to death. Superman's origin story, should I reveal myself? Fight monster/bad guy and Superman wins. Wow so original. Tim Sheridan needed James Krieg to help him write a better and more original story it seems. The art and sound is top notch but Superman makes some stupid decisions in this movie so I give this a decent meh 7/10. Not worth watching unless you want to fall asleep.
Seriously. Is this "the message" we get wasting an hour and a half Tet ANOTHER origin reboot of Superman as the people of Metropolis gets to know him, fear him then love him while he faces his first threat from outer space.
I don't work for WB or DC and I'm not a blind fan for DC, Marvel or anybody, thus I always say it as it early the big companies are extremely lazy to either introduce a NEW idea or new characters that they mainly introduce reboots over and over and over again, WE GOT IT, we know every angle of superman, batman, spider-man and many other "man" out there! Just get on with it to DIFFERENT plots! I'm not only talking about animation but next year we have yet another bs batman reboot, seriously. WTF! I have a legit question, how many reboots "quick cash grabbers" does the average human being gets to see in 1 life time. br>
As you can see from the cover, Superman this time faces mainly a "Godzilla" version of parasite and few minutes with Lobo! Yet you get that after wasting almost half of the movie with (who's the alien) and (fear or don't fear the alien) redundant plot. Without going into any specific details while pointing out that the story is as shallow as it sounds but the misery doesn't end here.
I can literally go scene by scene to point out the incoherent, irrelevant atmosphere or events, from the futuristic "off" feeling you get from Metropolis, that gives you the feeling you are Not on planet earth with its crowded population but on some kind of an alien world where the number of living beings is limited, jumping to the silly if not an extremely stupid idea of having the pre-superman wearing (aviator goggles) from WW1. Really ? to protect his eyes ? or may be cover his identity ? I a mask but (aviator goggles. To the "mushy, shapeless, childish" ending. In what I can sum in this line, Silly Plot, Garbage Message and Childish ending.
I recommend that you don't waste your money on watching or owning any reboot generally but specially this one. You can easily skip it or at best free stream it while saving your money for something new and worthy.
