The planet is about to be destroyed by an asteroid and we only have x hours before it strikes. I expected them to call Bruce Willis again to do some off-world digging but he must be under house arrest.
We're following Gerard Butler and his family as they try to get to a safe place in Greenland while the world around them turns into chaos. Other people seem to put more efforts into looting shops for toilet paper or holding end-of-the-world parties making their route a bit like the Road.
Gerard trying to save his family and driving his ridiculously oversized car through meteoroids: it's all forget-about-corona-for-two-hours mindless fun.
Heads up, as of last year they had found another site on Newfoundland. Thank you for this superb documentary. There's enough evidence of these times were extremely interesting but being so little documentation only a vivid imagination can come close to the experience these people lived as a norfolk man with a Swedish great grandfather and a long line of boat builders these people are distant kindred spirits. The Inuit also state that the Eastern Settlement was attacked by what could have been pirates at the end. In fact Iceland was virtually besieged by English pirates in the 15th century so what was left of the great families of Iceland brought in Hanseatic pirates to defend the sovereignty of Iceland. The Greenland settlement was occasionally visited by Bristol merchants late in the colony's history. Steady Inuit incursion was probably also a major factor in the Greenland Norse were better adapted to that environment and they had the advantage of superior mobility. they could hit and run relatively isolated Norse farms with impunity. The Western settlement was actually fairly important to the overall colony's survival because it was the best jumping off place for N. America and also because area north of it were the best hunting and fishing grounds in Greenland. It's loss in the 1380's was critical. Apparently the Inuit also swept down the western side of the Davis strait either absorbing the Dorset Eskimo or displacing them in about the same time frame as they migrated down the western side of Greenland. When the Norwegian or Icelander mentioned at the beginning of the episode showed up in the 1500's the Inuit were in complete control of the western shore of Greenland. Pretty balanced attempt at history and at least it was skeptical of the conclusion that the colony failed because the Medieval Norse were dumb.
Is Greenland still part of Denmark. After just visiting Iceland, i am already dreaming of Greenland. Superb video guys.

More of a surge than a tsunami. Even so, the setting and barking made it eerie. After watching the Tsunami videos from 2004 I know to run like hell when the water suddenly rushes out like that because its damn sure coming back with a vengeance. I noticed the dogs were raising hell too. That's the coldest tsunami I've ever seen. I'm from Greenland (New Thule to be specific. Once you see the water withdraw, its time to run to higher ground. Meteor hits earth No explosion Dad: “Wheres the explosion?” goes outside explosion happens Dad: surprise Pikachu face.
Dinosaur: Now everyone will get how it feels... This movie seems oddly similar to the movie, 2012. It's the same old run of the mill apocalyptic event where the cast race against certain doom. It is reminiscent of 2012, San Andreas, and Left Behind. Don't waste your time with this boring movie it is very very cliché, and all the action scene can be seen in the trailer. Okay, beats the snow fortress I used to build as a child. What a fantastic series! It brings together historical fact and legend in a way which is both informative and enchanting. Thankyou. Having travelled to 62 countries, Greenland is in my top 3. A special place. Greeting from Australia. I will go there to experience how it feels to live outside of earth.
