 It was the end of September in 2020. No foreign travelers in Hokkaido even the popular place for them because of  the Covid 19. 

 The Japanese government starts to recommend to travel around Japan. The writer decided to go to Hokkaido which is the north part of Japan. 

 Kushiro city is in the south-east part of Hokkaido. There are direct flights from Tokyo international airport and Narita international airport. 

 There is a Japan's largest marsh in Kushiro. Kushiro national park is 27,788ha and many wild animals live in this huge forest.

 We can see this beautiful nature by canoe. This time, the writer joined the Kushiro river canoe tour by "Marsh &River".

 The writer chose the morning tour (8:30-10:30). 8km canoe tour and one group get one guide.  "Marsh &River" have many menu such as afternoon canoe and long course...We can enjoy canoeing all seasons.

 We encountered deers twice. The fur is still summer one because we can see the white dot. This mean "summer" fur and change to brown (no dots). The brown fur mean "winter" one.

 The vast, untouched horizontal landscape is the park's greatest attraction.

 In this national park, the people do not maintain the fallen trees. Just remain the untouched nature so we sometimes see the fallen trees on this river.

 The day before the tour, it was strong rain. That is why the water ooze out to the river. The guide said we could see this only few times a year. It was lucky to see the dynamic nature even the weather was not good.

 Hokkaido is surrounded by the sea so we can eat very fresh fish foods here. Even for Japanese, Hokkaido foods are very popular and get the high evaluation. 

 The writer visited 釧之助 read as "sen no suke" for lunch.

 There are restaurants, shops and  aquarium. The most popular food is "special seafood bowl". Please try it!

Another popular food is "oyster soba". Soba is a Japanese noodle.

玉川庵 "Tamagawa-ann" is a traditional soba restaurant and got 1 Michelin star.
