Reverse sins should've been given with Peter's scenes in the classroom. Seeing his reflection smiling at him evily, and especially the possession scene were both fucking terrifying.

I actually felt the opposite way about the ending, where i was wondering how she could possibly escape the situation and return to normal life and when she smiled i realised. oh, shes stuck' because shes finding acceptance in the cult that i sure wish she wasnt. its unnerving because you know despite all that happened you know she'll stay by choice which is the nature of a cult. a much worse ending than happy and safe.

The my god... 2:33 i havent even seen the movie yet and i know what scene hes talking about now lol. It is so difficult to find Midsommar movie breakdown without getting spoilers to Hereditary. I've never ever felt so sick after the suicide scene. The gore nearly made me cry. The fact that there are subtitles at 4:23 and people actually think they're talking swedish. uhm as a swede I'm kinda offended HAH.

“And then she turns into a flower pot” LMFAO. 11:00 I wish he had sinned the scene directly after when her body floats by like a friggin Macys Day Parade float. I was laughing for a long time from that. I think one of the most interesting effects it have on me is that i was alone with my opinion. I HATED the community, every time they make the protagonist do stuff that were boring, long, uncomfortable. Every time they acted with supposed empathy only to not understand the shocked of others. Every time they seem to try to act like you were one of them, while at the same time not allowing you to leave if you wanted. Now i know that those were my guts telling me that there was something VERY WRONG.

I feel like every sin mentioned is highly explained in the movie. HELLO. I just made the connection of Pelle's parent's dying in a fire holy cow. Im here after watching the movie because the scariest thing was the jeans they were wearing when they first arrived at the village. This movie is just amazing, so beautiful and so disturbing. I just felt like it was one long bad drug trip and they gonna wake up in a field and be all okay. I like almost any movie, even the ones that are not really great. But this is the kind
of nonsense movie where everything is absurd, from the script to the characters, situations. Nothing left to like. It's sopposed to be a 'psicological terryfing thriller' or something like that, but it's more like psicological nonsense, high on drugs and cults or something like that without telling any story. Characters didn't have a motivation for anything, so what the hell, let's strech it to 2 and a half hours. Come on!
I felt stripped of my time and my money, so you will be better without wasting 2+ hours and your money on this supposedly allegorical nonense.

Am i the only person that didn't feel solidarity with the cult, or the main female character? Seems like it from these reviews. Do everything wrong with Bird Box. As someone majored in sociology some themes I got from this movie are: social acceptance, socialization, determinism and free will, nature vs. narture, criticising academic ethics and social sciences methods. I think as Hereditary is about psychological state and hereditary traits, Midsommar is about society. This is a beautifully made film, and a complete nightmare in the best of ways. It will be a long time before Im able to watch it again.
