The Director's Cut was great, albeit too long. Personally, I liked the books ending over this movie. Same as I did with the ending in The Shining. I search a content for sleeping and it turns out I found this Not bad... Damn, they really out there collecting screams like Monsters Inc.

Regarding Dr. Sleep's surprisingly poor showing, there is one glaring possibility that is being overlooked. I saw the film with my wife and 3 teenage sons. The long, brutal, graphic, and horrific torture and murder of Jacob Tremblay's character, an 11 year old in the movie, was the most violent and difficult movie scene I have ever sat through. And it kept getting worse and worse. I still can't shake that scene and am shocked that it was included in the film. Even the film It left out specific violent scenes. Mike Flanagan, a great director, should have shown the same restraint in this film. It wasn't necessary. And there is no question in my mind that this scene is keeping a lot of parents and kids away from this film (and viewers like me warning others of what they will see. It would be irresponsible of me not too.

When Rose says, Danny? in that vevelty tone, I got goosebumps. Seductive, yet soo, so sinister. Love it. 💖. Wow, this is interesting! Like vampires, but I guess they feed on souls instead? Love how they just turn to vapor when they die, the clothes melting, it's a nice new idea for a monster-person! I will say, I am still heavily confused about what's going on. The kid deaths still get to me, though. I'm starting to wonder how organized the dvds in the back are. THEY BETTER BE ALPHABETIZED >;0 lol. Stephen must be happy rn. two movies based off his novels in one year, and he liked both. a miracle.

I liked the part where they reference The Shining (1980. Just watched the 3 hour long Director's cut. Worth it. Highly recommended. I barely remember the original film, and I never read the books, but this film did a great job of keeping me hooked in. No boring exposition needed for a film/book that's almost 40 years old. I would argue that one doesn't even need to have watched the original to enjoy Doctor Sleep. Just watch it. It's a bit dark though with the violence. 1:11 General Kenobi.

The shining music at the end got me so hyped. I think it needs to be said that you have to at least have seen the shining to truly appreciate this awesome film. Literally stunned about the lack of common sense and knowledge most people have in the comments. I agree on how it shouldve followed the books original ending, it feels more complete and adds up to the titular title of doctor sleep. I have a theory: The overlook hotel is actually Pennywise. Now I know this sounds stupid, but think about it. The overlook has nightmarish entities, lures people in, uses someone to keep killing(Jack) just like Pennywise did when he brainwashed Henry Bowers, and is set in Maine. My question is why does rose the hat screams whenever her people die? I havent seen both the book nor movie but I heard it was good! Stephen King forever a legend!❤️.

What i love about this scene is the complete 180 it takes Rose is so confident and sure of herself and to see that confidence backfire is sooo fuckin satisfying.

It was actually the ghost possessed Dan that ran to the basement trying to stop the boiler from exploding. Dan stopped the Ghosts from inside of him and took back control enough to be comforted by the memory of his mother in his final living moments. This whole thing is evidenced by Abra telling the Ghost possesed ghost that they didn't count on Dan making the first stop to the boiler room when he got into the hotel. This to me was Dan's Plan C, if they couldn't defeat Rose and if something went wrong when he released and reawakened the spirits.

THEY WERE PLANNING A SEQUEL TO DOCTOR SLEEP. Until the box office numbers came in 😭😭😭 I wanted to see so much more from this world! This movie Deserved to make at least 300 million at the box office. Ok that was legit one of the best Horror movie I ever saw. In the book, she's his niece and it's implied that Jack may have had the shine with was why he was so easily influenced by the Overlook.

GREAT MOVIE, I love how The movie shining was Linked to this movie, great cast Ewen was great in this. I am tough on pecially a sequel to a film I love as much as The Shining. But I gotta say this was very good. It just wasn't marketed well and came out at an odd time in early November after Halloween and well before the holidays. Most teens and 20 somethings didn't grow up on the Shining and that demographic is mostly who sees horror films at the theatre. It was kind of a mix of horror, drama, and a character study and even had some legitimately moving moments as well. The scenes of Danny comforting the hospice patients and also the scene between Danny and Jack at the hotel were terrific. I found it very moving that Danny still loved his father even after everything that happened at the Overlook. It is sad that films like this that have substance go unnoticed and these corny superhero films make a billion dollars.
