It is utterly surreal to watch THE Russell Brand being instructed on how to make squishy children's soap. What very alternate dimension have I crossed into. That said... Laura is an absolute stunner, on every level! Wow! What a fabulous creature. God this whole thing is fabulous to watch. Id say lets do a reality show with these two, but Id prefer they stay so wholesome.
This movie has the ability to make real changes in our habits. It did for me - I spent the last 24 hours deleting social media accounts. If you haven't yet questioned how internet companies work, how opinions are changed, minds manipulated, human behavior predicted and monetized, privacy invaded, now is the time to think about it.
The added fictional story was underwhelming, but the whole documentary is just remarkable.

Profoundly insightful to the detrimental impact of social media and ongoing erosion of truth within our society. Prophetic. Not gonna lie. I thought this dude died. Good to see him sane and in good health. Mr. Snowden you have my vote and support and I thank you for all that you did and will never forget you in my prayers. May the Lord keep you safe and protected from the axis of evil politicians of. I am sure I do not get a shot of dopamine from receiving any kind of messages be it on social media or via text. My reaction is more like ugh, wtf do they want now ? or shit, I really dont feel like engaging in small talk right now lol. It's a must watch movie. I just wish they gave more time for discussing the counter measures. Yes, we need stronger data security and privacy laws that empowers the users. Yes, we can quit social media once and for all. But what about common people who uses it for essential purposes like connecting with their family, friends etc? What can they do for the time being until better laws are made? I wish more points were given in this regard.

The issue is not the tool but the people educational level using it, it's like everything in this planet has marketing strategies behind it Tv radio billboard shopping center for decades, and so on. But Facebook just did it smarter and intelligent. If you don't like it just quit, its free to use and is easy to delete it, but don't forget to destroy your television your PC your CD player your radio? because they are doing exactly the same thing just less smart lol. Humans learned that fire is hot by touching it so now everyone knows that watching other people's happy perfect life hurts so lessons learned now people are smart too? hopefully.

I stare into the soulless eye of my camera furiously when I beat it. Im not going to let them win. I've been saying this about smartphones for a while. Just look at the timeline when the whole craze came about. Not too long after 9/11 and the whole Patriot Act. If you think really well, when we click an outraging video, we are using OUR power to decide to watch a video made by a human being with the power to make it. The algorithm is really complex, but it's merely a pile of organized code. It's way clearer and less frightening when you have some dev experience. What triggers us to click a video, like I did on this one, is a very human reaction. If there's no machine facilitating it, we go after in other ways, like we used to do back in the 90s. Everything we have today in an old human desire, otherwise people would leave it all at the mercy of the oblivion.
My opinion since no one asked on the target rebellion: wether you are pro or anti mask you loose the choice to not wear one when you go into a store. It is a private company and to go into their store to shop/use the services you have to follow their rules.

Sometimes we think dont feel comfortable when the algorithm is doing the recommendation. But I do find it convenient. Save me the time to search for it. But at the same times, have to limit the usage. I have been reading the book “digital minimalist” by Cal Newport. This is the book that inspired me to go on light on the usage of smartphone. I have stopped using Facebook and deleted the shopping app and reading app too. I think it works for me.

Pinterest is hella addicting for the artist. When u open it, u automatically just drown in it and can't get out. Its like some black hole xD.
Am I the only one who actually finds Snowden's voice incredibly pleasant and soothing? I mean, despite the subject matter. I came straight here after the movie. Smartphones are like pacifiers for adults. Love the way everyone is woke, but no one will give up their phones. Its amazing how much better I feel when I intentionally put my phone away for even an hour, let alone an entire day. 2 Timothy 3:1-7 3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
I think an interesting part of these computer generated algorithms is that they can't predict the actions of the outliers that may or may not have a big influence in the way people think and interact on the internet. I believe this vulnerability can completely mark these algos inherently flawed when it comes to certain situations in current events. Thus, this perpetuates it's impending downfall if the algos aren't being monitored or changed frequently. The best way to remain avoidant to these manipulation tactics is to practice being an outlier imo. Taking charge of the content you view but also finding ways to diversify what you indulge to prevent the risk of viewing life in a vacuum.
I'm a nurse and have to wear a mask all day, and I have to admit I've caught myself driving down the road with my mask still on, I've just become use to it. I also have to admit that I decorated a mask with my son's school mascot on it for Spirit Week. Our president needs to pardon Snowden. Mmmm. a facinating insight into the world of 'smart phones' we live in today. It seems like some very inproper behaviour is taking place behind our backs, out of sight without our consent. They've got you covered. Is that a smart move on 'smart phones' Talk about big brother watching you! Sly or what.
