Never Failed|2020/11/12
I had a meal with the former president. I've heard a lot of stories during his tenure, but all of them were only good stories for him. So I made a request to hear the story of the failure. "Haha, I've never failed, so I was able to become president as a salaryman. Even in the Nikkei newspaper's column, I was told that I wouldn't be able to sympathize with readers without some failure stories. But it really isn't. " When I heard that this would be a failure, he answered, "It couldn't be helped. The time wasn't the time." It seemed that he thought it was just a process, not a failure. If there is no recognition of failure, there is no fear of failure. Certainly this may be the point of becoming president. -Text and illustration by Ted Sakaki
