前回、アメリカコロラド州から剣術のビデオレターを送ってくれたマッカロンさんに、下記のお礼のメールを送ったところ、今度は、剣棒術のビデオレターを送ってきてくれた。

I sent the following thank-you email to Mr. McCarron, who sent me a video letter of swordsmanship last time from Colorado, USA, and this time he sent me a video letter of boujutsu.

剣棒術の型を六尺棒の代わりに、杖を使って稽古。われわれも天井の低い稽古場では、長い得物を短い得物に持ち替えて稽古する。

自室などで稽古する場合もこうした工夫は必要になる。

He practice the ken-bou technique using a jo instead of a six-shaku-bou. In the low-ceilinged practice place, we also practice by switching long ones to short ones.

 This kind of ingenuity is also necessary when practicing in your own room.

Ingenuity to improve the kenbou omote-gata.

① 中心線を意識してください。 

① Please be aware of the center line.

②面を打つ前に頭のてっぺんに棒を置く必要があります。

②Before striking face you need to be the bou put on your top of your head.

③芝引の場合、相手のセンターラインを打つには、両方の拳をセンターラインでコントロールする必要があります。

③ For shibahiki, as striking opponents center line, you need to control your both fists on your center line.

In the future, every time you make a training video letter, the training will progress little by little. Also, it is my pleasure to see how you improve by my

 checking and giving you advice, and I think it encourages those who cannot participate in the lessons in remote areas or lockdowns.  

In addition, if the exchange disruption caused by the coronavirus is resolved, it will be possible to practice at nearby dojos, such as the Shofukan in Vancouver and the Shoufukan in Hawaii.  

There is a fancy creature called Tengu 👺 in Japan. Tengu have the ability to fly in the sky, cross space-time, and see things in the distance. We are happy to be able to substitute some of that capability by using the Internet.  

This year, we conducted a promotion examination for people practicing in the Czech Republic on the Internet. Next year is your turn. Thank you.

今後は、トレーニングビデオレターを作成するたびに、少しずつトレーニングが進んでいきます。 また、チェックやアドバイスをすることで、どのように改善していくのかを見ることができて嬉しいですし、遠隔地でのレッスンや封鎖に参加できない人たちを励ますと思います。 また、コロナウイルスによる交流の混乱が解消されれば、バンクーバーの正風館やハワイの翔風館など、近くの道場で練習できるようになります。 日本には天狗👺という幻想的な生き物がいます。 天狗は空を飛んだり、時空を横切ったり、遠くにあるものを見ることができます。 インターネットを使用して、その機能の一部を置き換えることができることを嬉しく思います。 今年は、チェコ共和国で稽古している人を対象にインターネットで昇級試験をしました。 来年はあなたの番です。 ありがとうございました。
