Jane Yellowrock has her hands full in the latest novel in the New York Times bestselling series that captures “the essence of urban fantasy” (SF Site).

Slaying vampires is child’s play for skinwalker Jane Yellowrock. But handling the complicated politics of New Orleans’ supernatural players is another story...

Jane is keeping the peace between visiting groups of witches and vamps in the city, but then trouble comes knocking on her doorstep. When her house is magically attacked, the wild chase to find her assailants unearths a mystery that has literally been buried deep.

A missing master vampire, presumed long deceased, is found chained in a pit...undead, raving mad, and in the company of two human bodies. Now it’s up to Jane to find out who kept the vampire hidden for so long and why, because the incident could tip already high supernatural tensions to an all-out arcane war.Rang parmi les ventes Amazon: #64476 dans eBooksPublié le: 2016-04-05Sorti le: 2016-04-05Format: Ebook KindlePrésentation de l'éditeurJane Yellowrock has her hands full in the latest novel in the New York Times bestselling series that captures “the essence of urban fantasy” (SF Site).Slaying vampires is child’s play for skinwalker Jane Yellowrock. Not sure I'm quite ready today either, but I have to put my thoughts down. So, SR takes place over a few days, leading to the Witch Conclave where Leo is expected. Yellowrock securities has A LOT to do except... The bad guys are out to get them. And not only YS, but the Vamps and Wiches also ! No discriminations, the bad guys wanna take care of everyone. The plot is unexpected, and mostly you don't figure out what's happening until Jane does, and that is what I love. The fact that you don't see it coming, that you're surprised up until the end. So many twists, so many stuff happening, it needs several reading to really grasp everything.Jane has to figure out what is going on, who's on it, and what do they want exactly ? And while doing this, she has to stay alive, try to take care of all the magics stuffs that accumulated inside her body, and, MOST OF ALL ... Her family. Which is expanding. (Love the Yougers from my loving heart.)That is the greatest thing about SR. Jane has come so far from her bag of clothes strapped to her Harley it is a-ma-zing. Man, it put such a smile on my face during the family moments ! The Yellowrock Clan, le Clan Yellowrock, that's for sure. It could lead to so many many things, my head is spinning, and I cannot WAIT to see what Faith Hunter will do with all this.I felt like Angie try and stole the show sometimes. Especially when Edmund happened. I felt like his happening was such a dig deal, Jane and the Youngers should have been the ones on it, and Angie kind of intruded on it.Now, I have to go on and on on my fav part, the Leo/Jane moments. One of my sin ? Gluttony. I wanted so much more interaction between them, especially because I was snickering each time. They are just too funny together. Bickering. I love that Jane calls him out on his ass-moments, that Leo happens to listen to what she says - even if he takes his own little time to act on it - , that Jane and him can understand each other without spelling out everything - the last twist, the SOS, hands and butts, Jane evolving about blood and survival stuff - etc. Leo has FLAWS. And he thinks five books ahead of everyone, and that's so cool and I'm such a fan girl, and if I wasn't already, I would be thanks to the Magic Box of Leather.Jane, please listen to Beast. Beast knows best. Beast is kind of Leo-like : she knows stuffs, way ahead of y'all, and she'll tell you when she's good and ready.Bottom line : Léonard, I'm counting on you. Ne me déçois pas. (I was on Trent team from the Hollow since book 1 too. So, clean up your act a little bit, and go, go, go, champion !!)I guess that leads me to Bruiser ? Boys and gurls, I tried. Really. But, nope. Bruiser is just.... Too perfect. So smooth. Says the right things at the right time, easy peasy, so nice and romantic and bla.bla.bla... Flat. Bored. I am bored. That's why 4,5 stars for me. Cause he was here a lot.As usual, I have so many QUESTIONS. Gee ? Grégoire ? Ming ? Adrianna ? The magics stuffs in Jane ? The bad guy totally got that attacking Jane was the way to go. I had this dream right after reading where the EV kidnapped Jane... Man, that sucked, but it was awesome too.I could totally do a review by chapter. If anyone wants to do that with me, please raise your hand.
