This casting is all wrong. morticia looks like some alien stole her skin. she looks like mars attack. festers just plain stupid. wednesday is as weird as mortice, but her character is so enjoyable either way. gomez gets bored of his showboating, and is almost short when dealing with people? ya right…but gomez almost holds it together, then you get a stupid knife fight, only consisting of back hand swords. i liked the grandma and cousin ed. those were the two characters that were proper. overall, this story would have been better suited for the 1990 addam's family cast. i found family values to be a sad sequel, with some funny parts. you don't get too many actresses like ricci to pull off the part so well at such a young age.

I'm 3 minutes in and I'm like noooooooooooooo. I've watched this every year for Halloween, but it wasn't until last night that I feel I've truly seen what really makes it special. Sure, the plot was meh, as is the sequel's, but what carries this film are the actors. All the actors live and breath their character. The little interactions and dialogue between them all really gives you the Addams Family experience the way it should be. When I watched it last, I was mostly impressed with Angelique and her of Morticia, no one else can do Morticia like her, just how she speaks and presents herself is everything you want from her character. And the chemistry she has with Raul breathes the iconic Gomez and Morticia romance to life. Excellent casting! And to top it all off, I gotta give a shout out to my girl Wednesday. She represent my inner self and she has always been my favorite parts of the movie for as long as I can remember. There's no one like Wednesday.

It was funny. a silly kind of funny, and that is exactly how the Addams family is.
I really liked the casting of this film. Raul Julia made a very suave Gomez. Anjelica Houston was beautiful, and she came off as sweet yet wonderfully macabre, just as Morticia should be! And let's not forget Christopher Lloyd's Uncle Fester. You could really tell he had fun portraying him. Christina Ricci as Wednesday was also enjoyable. I find most child actors annoying, but she was quiet and kept character very well.
The plot was interesting but a bit predictable. The music was good, nothing special, but it fit the movie quiet well. If you're a fan of dark humor you would enjoy this film. I love to watch it around Halloween. And even if it is a bit cheesy, yes I'll admit) I found it enjoyable, entertaining and overall fun.
