The witches series. This is a remake of that 1990 Jim Henson film. How does this look cheaper than the 90s one. This movie was a great kid's movie. I first saw it when I was very young. I must say that me and my friend want to own this on video because of the front cover. It makes you so tempted to buy it. Angelica Huston is the grand high witch and she plays a really good part, a gorgeous woman too. However, for every gorgeous person you get an ugly one i.e Mai Zetterling. She is Lukes grandma and although she plays a great part she is also very old. Can I just say that when all the witches are meeting in that hall all the people/witches at the back are men with wigs on! It is so obvious. After all that the movie is good and I enjoyed it! 10/10.

I loved the movie, it remains one of favourite horrors of all time. But I've always felt my love for the film is more due to circumstances around seeing it than the fact that it was a great film. I'm so glad Ryan holds this film in such high regards. The night I saw the film, I had a difficult time getting to sleep, the fear a good horror really sets in during those moments of before falling asleep, especially at that age. Later that night I was awaken to that distinct sound the pods made when it grew a human replication. That sickly, sticky, crinkly sound. I sat up to hear more closely and confirmed my worst fear, that sound was REAL, coming from the floor next to my bed! Paralyzed with fear I sat there for long seconds unable to move. The sound was accompanied by a distinct smell, a vaguely fleshy goo scent in the air only compounded my fear and it would not go away, it would not prove to be just the figment of my imagination that I so desperately wanted it to be. I finally got up the nerve to flick on my bedside lamp. and I saw that our family dog, Dusty had setup shop right next to my bed and was in the process of delivering a litter of pups, the sound was her licking the messy birth stuff off her little baby animals. The fear conveyed by that movie would remain legendary in my mind for the rest of my life.
