2:33 I always liked how the bullet hits the walkers knee and just evaporates. it shows you what theyre up against. This is most people's favorite installment and widely considered to be the best Star Wars film. Young people who came of age with the prequels often cite Episode III as their favorite. Empire has four strikingly distinct environments, an amazing opening battle, the Yoda reveal, the romantic sparring, a deeper explanation of the Force, Lando's treachery and redemption, the presence of fan favorite Boba Fett, the loss of Han, the Vader revelation and the cliffhanger ending. It is, indeed, a wild escapist ride that packs an emotional wallop! I fully understand your need to come down from the high. Lol. If you watch these films in machete order by seeing the prequels next, you will SPOIL a major plot point for yourself. I don't understand why people recommend that. Each trilogy is of its time with an intrinsic sensibility; it's jarring to jump around between time frames like that unless you're already familiar with the story. Moreover, the director's intent was to view them in the order they were released. That's how the world was exposed.

Where the first was an introduction to this vast universe, this is a further adventure in it, and an expansion of it. New worlds, creatures and technologies. Like its predecessor, this has something for everyone, and this is a stronger film. perhaps the most so, of the entire series. Kershner is undoubtedly at least part of the reason. he worked to make the characters realistic and credible beyond what they were, and it pays off. The various relationships are more believable than in the others, and the developments are very natural. This offers an emotional connection to the material, for the viewer, in addition to all the entertaining aspects. The plot remains interesting throughout and it never stands still. The pacing is spot-on, there isn't a boring moment in the two hour running time. The effects are impeccable, and Lucas had the crew push themselves to the limit, and it shows. big time. The score is yet again fantastic, Williams adds to what he created for IV. The acting is good, and seldom poor. The tone gets darker, setting up a sequel. The episode before this was a solid story even if it would be the only in the franchise, and this is a perfect middle part. This has by far the greatest light-saber action in the Original Trilogy. This is exciting and masterful with dialog and tension of high quality. The DVD features a commentary track well worth a listen, with several speakers, including Irvin. I recommend this to fans of Star Wars(regardless of what exactly you take that to mean) science fiction and movies. 10/10.

I've always found the short sequence of the ship moving away from the asteroids starting at 0:35 one of the greatest moments in sci-fi history. The soundtrack and image combination is awe-inspiring. Imagine how it would have been if one of the stormtropers farted. Wouldnt it be funny if Vader got nervous when the Emperor arrived and said the same shit to the emperor that the commander said to Vader when he arrived lol. “Emperor Palpatine what a pleasant surprise, we are honoured by your presence”.

It made me happy to watch you experience the movies. Keep going. 5:52. Star Wars moment 👌 😍. Ugh. This reminds me of being in the service and having to stand in formation whenever some big shot showed up. Yup he is dead by some tanker and money 😐. For all that is good and holy, please just continue with release order. The two trilogies have very distinct styles and should not be mixed up. Its more fun to imagine what the rest of the world experienced as these stories unfolded.

I love this scene. I like the way Vader says NO captain, they're alive! I love the way Palpatine says boy. Worst part of my career right here. Any "Star Wars" fan will tell you this film is hands down the best in the saga. Kershner and Kasden created a masterpiece. The direction, cinematography, screenplay, special effects, score and acting are superlative. The score plays just as an important role as the characters as it adds to the intensity, and adventurous tone of the film. The story continues between the rebel forces and the evil empire. Luke is introduced to Yoda who tutors him in the way of the Jedi. The rebel forces are in immenent danger and Luke cuts his training short to join the rebels in their battle. He encounters the ominous Darth Vader and family secrets are finally revealed. There are so many memorable scenes and quotes in this film it is almost impossible to choose a favorite. If I had to it would be the scene where Luke must decide on accepting the truth or risk plunging to his death. The plot is crisp, insightful, duplicitous, thrilling, cathartic and has an ambiguous ending. It is an ingenious film and remains one of the very best films in the science fiction genre. This film influenced this viewer to remain a fan even after having to endure the inferior Episodes 1, 2 and 3.

Plot twist, he finds out he has a son and he yells at Sidious you lied to me. At the very least, afraid of seagulls haha I got that reference.
