彫りの国際交流。International exchange of engraving.

今日は、JAJ(ジュエリー・アーティスト・ジャパン)主催の技術交流会「英国の彫り 日本の彫り」でデモンストレーターとして和彫りの実演をしました。

デモンストレーターは、日本人4人イギリス人1人の計5人でした。

同じ日本人でも、人によって表現方法は様々です。

私以外の方は、アーティストとして活動していて作品をたくさん持ってきていました。

私は、アーティストというよりは職人としての仕事をメーンにしているので、その場でいろいろな彫りの表現を実際に彫ってお見せするようにしました。なので、あまり面白くなかったかなぁ…と心配しましたが、みなさん興味を持って見てくださっていたので嬉しかったです。

また、イギリス人のカストロ君の仕事も大変興味深いものでした。

いわゆる洋彫りと言われるもので、彫刻刀の様に手でタガネを握り押して彫ります。

なかなか彫りで国際交流なんて出来ないのでとても面白かったです。貴重な経験をさせて頂き、勉強になりました。

彫りは本当に奥が深いです。

だからこそ、やり甲斐があります。

まだまだ、もっと勉強しないとですね。
