about I Made Dabi arnasa

A young genius from the prestigious Indonesia Institute of Arts Yogyakarta.

Dabi is an artist who has been energetically holding exhibitions inside and outside Indonesia since he was a student, and has been producing and presenting his own works.

In Dabi name, he is said to have the acronyms of five Bali Hindu gods.

I made friends with Dabi at the reception of an event that coincided with the exhibition in the gallery Bentra Budaya yogyakarta.

MUSIC LIVE, a band formed by Pak Putu, Yusa, and Syarif, was also held during the solo exhibition by the artist of jogja, and when I went out to play, Dabi was also at the venue and talked to me in various ways.

After that, I had a good time talking in sangkring, drawing with sketchbooks, drinking with Yusa and others in the school.

All of Dabi's works have a clear surrealist story.

In order to create such a story, it may be necessary to draw landscapes, situations, and motifs that are impossible in reality.

To that end, he is reassured that he sketches with extremely faithful and solid hatch lines, paints a solid surface and uses solid techniques to represent the world.

However, since his personality such as the environment in which he grew up and his way of life is fully exposed, he is in a position where he has achieved an interesting Galapagos evolution that cannot be bound by the surrealist genre.

In the new work created for the conflicting power grid this time, cats are standing as if they were projecting humans without flying.

Furthermore, I get a very quiet impression of this work, which is drawn in monochrome tones.

How do the cats in this picture feel? Perhaps it is linked to the feelings of people from 2020 to 21 and the feelings of the creator, Dabi himself.

Any further explanation of the situation will be unreasonable, so please take a look at Dabi's work again and immerse yourself in the story. There are many of his works on Instagram, and cat motifs often appear. Please look for that as well.

(Instagram account information is posted at the bottom of the Dabi introduction column in the artist column)

 terima kashi Dabi!

Let's have fun drinking again!
