about Navi Nguyễn

Navi, an artist living in Vietnam Ho Chi Minh.

I met him on Instagram. Last year, the coronavirus spread in 2020, and Japan had a difficult time going out due to the state of emergency. (In January 2021, the situation has not changed as of this writing)

I have something to think about, and because it's hard to actually go to the exhibition, if I can develop the work on the web, I might be able to enjoy the exhibition while staying at home, so while presenting the work on the web We made a project called "KUYOUDERA".

There were various events at that time, and a friendship with Navi was born.

After that, I was talking with him and interacting with him on Instagram while watching Navi's work, and his painting was in the middle of my taste.

This is because I feel "mind" in Navi's line drawing.

It is very difficult to make a work with "mind". Unless there is a huge amount of heat (for example, emotions / love / hate / attachment / ideal ... etc), I wouldn't try to make it into a work in the first place, so it may be one of the foundations of the artists.

However, I think that what is even more difficult is that there is a "mind" in what you make with all your heart. (Even if you look at the same work, there are many different things, and I think that some people will stick it and some will not. I feel that this is a very interesting place.)

Looking at Navi's line drawing based on the above, I think that the expression is catching up with "detailed, passionate", but I think that the word that applies personally is "passion sense".

To borrow a mediocre analogy, you get the image that the painting itself has life.

The system is different from "projecting the author or giving a sense of life", and it seems that you should be looking at the picture, but on the contrary, you are seeing it from the picture. I feel like that.

Now let's focus on Navi itself.

He is knowledgeable and has a deep knowledge of various genres.

On his own Facebook page, he even publishes a text summarizing his research on Japanese history and many other things.

When he asked him about the conversion from Japanese city pop and why it happened, I carefully answered while looking for a book.

Even recently, I think he is summarizing the differences between Japanese "NENGAJOU and OTOSHIDAMA" and thinking deeply and deeply about what he was interested in.

If you are interested, please take a look at the URL below, which contains an interview text that pursues the depth of his knowledge. (If you translate the article into Japanese, you can see it without difficulty)

Because Navi is pursuing such various things, I feel that he is over-focused when drawing pictures.

I think that Navi's own feelings are mixed in with the result, and the painting itself is a factor to have a will.

 Cảm ơn bạn Navi!

I'd be happy if I could go to Ho Chi Minh this year, but it might still be tough ... but I'll definitely go there when the corona is over! !!
