太宰府天満宮の庭園 (2) 境内の庭／福岡県太宰府市・Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine garden (2) shrine precinct garden / Dazaifu city, Fukuoka pref.

太宰府天満宮の境内には苑池の他にも各所に庭園が設けられている。

楼門をくぐり回廊内へと進むと結界の遣水があり石橋を渡ると拝殿へといたるがその周囲にも梅が植えられている。回廊外の境内には梅林があり２月は観梅客で賑わう。いたるところに庭があり梅が植えられている。その一つに曲水の庭がある。曲水の庭では毎年3月初旬に平安貴族の装束に身を包んだ人々が集い「曲水の宴」が催される。その他にも境内背後の山の斜面を利用した枯滝の石組を持つ庭が二つある。この他に菖蒲池にも周囲を縁取るように梅が植えられている。

The shrine precinct of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine has gardens in various places. Between the gate and the hall of worship there is a garden of the stream. There are plum trees around the corridor and February is crowded with spectators. In addition there is Pond of irises. Next to that there is a "garden of Winding stream". There, people who dressed in Heian costumes gather in early March every year and "Winding stream party" is held. There are also two gardens with a dry waterfall stone arrangement made on the slope of the mountain.
