The reason I'm giving it a 10, is basically what it have done and thereby represents.
Basically most of Hollywood these days, is either remakes, franchises, cinematic universes" or attempts at it) or sequels.
Not too many originals ideas emerge any more.
And yes, Bill and Ted 3 is also a sequel to an all ready established franchise, but at least this movie stayed true to its roots.
What I mean is, look at the Disney Star Wars sequels - Han, Leia, and Luke were immediately pushed into to the background, so we instead could focus on this young, new, diverse and woke cast, nobody ever asked to follow.
One of the most iconic heroes all across cinema - Luke Skywalker, only had about 22 minutes of screen time in total in more than 6 hours in three movies. The same happened more or less to all his old co-stars.
And why did they have to do that?
Because they was too old? Too wrinkled now? Too white?
I really don't think people would have minded seeing our heroes in a more stoic and wise way - actually I think that what fans was hoping for, for all most 40 years.
And I don't think people really will remember the new main cast of the Disney Star Wars sequels rather well or fondly.
The same thing can be said about Ghostbusters 2016. The original Ghostbusters isn't just a classic movie - it's iconic.
Fans had been hoping for a true sequel for years, but instead they go and swap the cast with women, to make some sort of feminist statement.
I mean, why?
What have the original Ghostbusters ever done to women?
And who ever asked for this?
Why would it be so bad to see Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Ernie Hudson and who else they could get to come back, and bust some ghosts in their later years?
The only thing Ghostbusters 2016 have in common with the old movies, is basically just the name, logo and the basic concept.
They could just as well have called it Spirit Hunters, with a girl cast, like a tongue in cheek female parody, and nobody would have been angry, felt provoked or disappointed.
But then they wouldn't have had the power of nostalgia bating and a well known brand I guess.
There or a lot of other examples, of pointless remakes and sequels, but my point with Bill and Ted 3 is, that it's just so refreshing and delightful to see a movie finally take the chance and let these two white and now middle-aged men take the front and center, like they did 30 years ago.
Fans don't care that they're older now, since the fans have also aged themselves. And the fans wanted to see Bill and Ted, not some sappy cool terminating beutiful Latino chick or a purple haired woke non-sexual suddenly take front and center when nobody never asked for it.
Sure Bill and Ted have some new and younger characters, like their daughters and a few new villains and friends, but they just serve the overall plot and tone and they don't push Bill and Ted into the background in their own movie.
Only the show Cobra Kai of the Karate Kid franchise and now Bill and Ted 3, are the only brands, that I have seen to have this courage.
And the fans seems to respect and love this way more, than they did with the new Ghostbusters and Star Wars.
But now they're doing a new Ghostbusters movie now, since the Ghostbusters 2016 movie flopped rather hard.
The new Ghostbusters movie is said to come out next year, and will be set in the original universe and just ignore that the 2016 movie ever happened.
It seems to introduce Egons grand kids, but hopefully this movie will not just try to follow the success of IT and Stranger Things and focus on a bunch of kids busting ghosts instead of the actual Ghostbusters themselves - I mean what people want to see is the original Ghostbusters return in their own movie, wrinkles, wigs warts and all - not just glorified cameos like in Disney Star Wars.
Hopefully the people making Ghostbusters 3 will take notice of Bill and ted 3 and let the old busters take front and center in their own movie name like Bill and Ted just triumphantly did - hopefully...

The film did bring back some good memories. I just felt it was rushed and not very funny. Wish they could of CG'd Rufus (George Carlin) into the film a little more. He had a brief muffled 5 second scene, and it totally sucked. Death (William Sadler) was awesome once again. He nails that roll. They should do a spin off on his character. What was up with Ted's wardrobe? Pink button up and blue jeans? Come on. I could go on and on. To sum it up the movie wasn't terrible, but it wasn't any good either. Would I watch it again? Doubt it. Recommend it? Definitely not. 5 stars from me and one thumb down 👎.
