It was agatha all along. It is what it is. It luggage. It's a new day. People inters a clown show, young children, women, men and all short of people. The show was going well. But an accident sets fire on the entire hall room. It burns everything, all the people, all the cute laughing faces of the children. But the dancing clown of the show who had heavy paint all over his face and baggy cloths on him, manages to escape the fire. Out of the hall he jumps into a sewer to put the fire of his body. Later, instead of showing up above, he stays down the sewer. Cos he realizes it was he who was responsible for the fire. He could not show his face to anybody cos what he had done. Neither could he forgive himself.
The clown never forgot the melting face of the children. Which he never wanted. He wanted to all the children smile and laugh. That was his fantasy, that's what he still wants. But he could not come above ! Because the above world reminds him of that horrible event.
So being a vigilante he starts kidnaping kids one by one using his charisma. He takes them down the sewer and looks them up in a cage. He tells them jokes, serves them nice food and cloths, dances in front of them. Just for one reason ! he wants to see them smiling and laughing. He succeds for first few times but then the kids starts getting desperate to go home. The clown insists. He would do anything, bring them anything but they can't leave him. He want's them to SMILE. The kids soon realizes they are in deep trouble.
The clown plans to bring some more kids into his show. But this time he makes a
little mistake. He tries to lure a kid whose brother was already captivated by him. The kid was too smart and realized what happened to his brother. He runs back to home.
He tries to explain this to his and all the children's parents but no one believes him. So he decides to rescue his brother on his own.
Down the sewer, the three captivated kids also tries to trick the clown in different way to escape form. But the clown is super smart (and scary. He is not easy to be fooled.
So, this time the kids takes a different approach. They asks the clown to bring them strange things for them, like cartoon dvds, toys, video games, carrots etc. Their plan was to keep the clown busy so they can find way escape. But every time the clown successfully brings it to them within an hour.
butt, butt, butt, wait there, that's not the story. br> Yeah, that's not the story, I just made it up. You wanna know the story? cos there is no story in this movie. Just bunch of scenes tied up together. And if you watch a lots of movie, than you have seen them already.

Ithaca weather. It won't stop. This was atrocious. The only way you could tell that this movie was "set" in the 80's was it being mentioned in a subtitle. The kids all visibly look like they don't belong within the same age category. They made one of the "greasers" 6'3" and he looks like Kylo Ren.
The bike and reference to The Lone Ranger makes no sense sine the movie is set in the 80's. No pubescent boy was watching that. It would have made more sense to emulate Eliot's bike from ET or the traditional BMX bike that was highly popularized at the time.
The worst part is how flat the made the characters. Richie is always sexualizing everything with his humour. The dialogue is dry and leave no room for character development. It comes off awkward.
They missed the mark with the horror aspect. The beauty of the first IT was it's implied horror. It added to the mystery of IT and it really made your imagination run full tilt because you never got to lean enough about Pennywise. This was substituted with subpar CGI and an over explanation of who and what IT is. By effect, killing the mystic allure.
Avoid this movie if you don't wish to tarnish what you love about the book and original movie.
