Watch JuSt Online Vioz Just,Why. I didn't realise that this film was based on true events until the credits rolled.
The casting it turns out, was impeccable.
Very interesting and poignant film depicting a story of black folk enduring white supremacy law in Deep South Alabama.
The story has been told in other notable films. The cast here Is excellent and believable.
Brought a tear to my eye and enjoyed it immensely.

Legally taken someones life, that's a sensitive case. But so much were created initially around Michael B. Jordan that I tought the movie was about a prodigy lawyer, Matthew McConaughey's style (the movie poster also gives a wrong impression.

It's an ok lawyer drama. The cause fighted in the movie is so rellevant that gives the title an edge, not enough to convince me of the arguments presented:

• All drama solved very quickly with Myers 1st testimony saying that McMillian was inocent in 4 differents ways. From that moment, i already knew the end of the movie. li>
• Poor initial defense from Bryan making questions to Ralph Myers. He had the tape from Myers 1st testimony from Escambra Courthouse recorded 3 months earlier from the 2nd one, that should have been mentioned someway. He even looked for his notes to find something to ask. C'mon the man was in Harvard for God's sake. Of course the solution was making Myers guilty looking to McMillian, simple as that.
• Scenario does not look like 1992.

Quick notes about the pros:

• Great scene transition from the songs when Bryan is in the car;
• Backgrounding for the drama really fast/objective, every word made sense;
• Contrast of white/black neighborhoods scenes;
• Brie Larson in the supporting role.
• Herbert scenes, showing that Bryan was no hero.
• Transformation of the prison guard.

The movie was ok, the message is bigger.

I'm not sure you can call it justice or mercy when innocent people are exonerated after spending most of their adult life in prison, on death row. Nothing they've lost can ever be replaced, the lives they might have had washed away by racism, corruption, hopelessness.
This isn't the first film to tackle the story of innocent black men incarcerated, or brutalised, or murdered. I doubt it will be the last. I've been watching films like this since the 1960s and nothing has changed, except maybe these days technology allows me to see recordings of unarmed black men being gunned down by police. In many ways things seem to have got worse.
The film's biggest flaw is that it is all too common a story. How much of a reflection is it on a society that it comes as no shock that racism and social injustice is rife? This is a story that needs to be told again and again and again and again until they run out of these stories to tell.
As always, Jordan fills the screen with an easy charisma and a natural sense of integrity that's rare. Foxx shines quietly in one of his more restrained performances, and Larson does what she can with a peripheral role that feels it should have more weight.
From beginning to end it's a straight-forward procedural, the dedicated lawyer fighting the good fight against the odds. Bring your kids to see it.
