The Difference between Oriental Meditation and Christian Meditation
Rosilind Jakic
We live in a very stressful world where we are always looking for a way to relieve stress.
Almost every doctor or health professional should tell you to do one thing to relieve stress.
It is meditation, if Christian, meditation. The meditation they are saying is oriental meditation.
Zen, transcendental meditation, yoga, Chinese meditation, Hindu meditationç induction, all of which originated from New Age and Eastern religions. But the meditation that God speaks of in Joshua 1:8 is very different from Oriental meditation.
On the contrary, whatever it is, if we indulge in meditation outside the meditations that the Bible speaks of, we will clearly say that we will open the door wide to satan, our enemy.
I shared a little bit about this in a previous
post.
In that article, I wrote about why adult coloring books with mandala design can be dangerous for Krischan. WWhenever we mix biblical and other religious customs, we are offending God.
In the Old Days, God
said:
"If you go in and the nations you are going to own, your God, the Lord, will destroy you from before you, and you will own them and live in them, be careful, and do not follow them and not be turned on after they have been uprooted from before
you. In search of their gods, he said, 'How did these Gentiles serve them? Let me do that, too." Do not do this to your God, the Lord.
They did to their gods all the abominable things the Lord hated, and even burned their sons and daughters with fire for their gods. You must do all that I have to do to you. It should not be added to this. must not be reduced. ((Deed 12:29-32)
Throughout the Bible, God is said to be the "jealous God" of Himself. The Lord has ordered us to keep our worship pure and not to be tainted by worshipping other gods.
You may be told this. "But I'm not meditating on these to worship. But
as Christians, whatever we do in this life should be to worship God. So if you are not worshiping God - on the contrary, what is used to worship other Gods - you should reject it now and remove it from your life. This includes yoga, which many Christians do as a stress relief exercise.
If you examine the origins and meanings of yoga, you should immediately understand why yoga is not appropriate for the lives of those who believe in Jesus. But like prayer and praise, biblical meditation is something we should do every day.
Biblical meditation is to speak the Word of God, to sing it, to ponder His Word, and to imagine how it applies to our lives.
More than reading, examining, praying, and remembering the Word, we ponder what each word means personally, and at a much deeper level we take in the word leaves as we repeatedly speak to ourselves.
6 Points Where Oriental Meditation Differs
from Biblical Meditation
1ïŒ Oriental meditation emptys the head
Biblical meditation fills the head and spirit with the word of God. In fact, emptying your head is a very dangerous thing to do. Because we have given the enemy a room that can be filled with falsehoods.
The Hebrew meaning of Meditation is "speak or sing."
This is the opposite of Oriental meditation. Biblical meditation fills our thoughts with the Word of God and builds up our inner man.
2ïŒ Oriental meditation concentrates on oneself
Oriental meditation concentrates on you, your inner self-realization, your breathing, your senses and your emotions.
The enemy will do everything possible to prevent us from focusing on Christ. In addition, the deception of the enemy's protrusion is to increase pride and self-sufficienth. Biblical meditation should focus on Christ rather than on oneself.
3ïŒ Oriental meditation seeks stress relief
The problem with worldly culture is not stress. Stress is just a symptom of a serious problem. More serious problems include pride, worry, fear, and perfectionism. The root of all these problems is pride, and the result is stress.
However, God wants us to walk every day in a way that brings peace without being affected by the environment. "I leave you peace. I will give you my peace. What I give you is different from what the world gives you. You must not make a fuss about your heart. Don't be afraid. (John
14:27)
Christians should never turn their minds to anything other than Jesus Christ in search of peace to reduce stress.
4ïŒ Oriental meditation focuses on a person taking all the initiative.
Oriental meditation asks for itself as an agent who brings peace, silence, and oneness with God.
This is humanity's first false thing. "You can be like God,"
biblical meditation tells us that if God is Almighty and God is in control, you can be at peace.
Because I know that only God's plan will be.
Oriental meditation lowers God from the throne and seats fallen people instead.
5ïŒ Oriental meditation is just escapism
By chasing high consciousness and a state of sexual consciousness, we can escape from stress and enter a new realm of oneness with God.
However, if you return to a normal state of consciousness, stress has not changed before.
We can't change this fact. Biblical meditation does not lead to escapism.
Instead, knowing that God controls all situations gives us the natural power that comes from the Holy Spirit so that we can walk in the "flames and floods" with a at peace.
We don't have to get away from our problems.
"Because I know that patience arises when faith is tested," he says, "and by faith, we pass through all those problems with great joy."
6ïŒ Oriental meditation manipulates the environment for peace
People can enter a meditative state by targeting the atmosphere or something, using silence, breathing exercises, or anything else.
This is about manipulating the environment and atmosphere.
But god's children can be silent about The Word of God anytime, anywhere, without being caught up in circumstances or environments.
Because we have direct access to the throne of God.
Indeed, we are the temple of God, and the Holy Spirit lives within us.
There is no need to manipulate the situation to give us peace.
We just remember the precious promises of The Word of God and put our faith and trust in Him. The Biblical Way
of Meditation
The Lord told Joshua:
"The book of this law must not be separated from your mouth, and it must be kept in the "English" day and night.) In order to protect all things that have been sning in time. For you can prosper and prosper by what you do. Have I not ordered you? Be strong. Be snoungy. Don't be afraid. You must not be ono. For your God, the Lord, is with you wherever you go. (Yoshia 1:8-9)
The Hebrew word for "meditate"
usedhere is haga h, meaning "speak, sing, requim, imagine, plan." Biblical meditation is the repetition of the Word of God.
And that includes imagining and using your brain to plan how to practice the Word of God in your own life.
They repeatedly speak to them in verse 1 of the Bible, examine the words carefully, and imagine how to apply them to their lives.
If we begin to make biblical meditations as part of our daily Christian path - that is, if we imagine how we can speak and murmur the Word of God and shape our lives according to His Word - we will see our lives transformed. And the Lord has promised us. You can prosper and prosper with what you do.
Do you believe this word?
