四つ木めだかの小道は、葛飾区が自然と調和した都市環境を作ることを目指して整備されたものです。もともとあった下水道管を地下に埋設し、その上に水路が作られています。水路には、メダカや蜻蛉などの水生生物が生息しやすいように、ワンド、乱杭などを設置して自然の流れに近づけています。地域の人々に親しんでもらうために、メダカや水生生物の里親制度が行われています

Katsushika City developed The Yotsugi medaka small path aiming to create an urban environments harmony with nature. The original sewer pipe is was buried underground, and a waterway is built on it. In the waterway, there are wands and random piles to get closer to the flow of natureas in order for aquatic life such as medaka and dragonfly to live natural. A foster parent system for medaka and aquatic life is in place to familiarize the local people.
