京都の町家滞在も10日目となる。錦市場に食材を買いに行ったり、近所の美味しいイタリアンを見つけたりと暮らすように過ごすことができた。その中で2015年のNHKのBSテレビ番組「京都人の密かな愉しみ」はとても面白かった。一つの番組でドラマ、ドキュメンタリー、料理教室ありと、四季の京都の楽しみが伝わってくる。1本が2時間という長さを感じない構成で、お酒を飲みながら明日何をしようかとアイデアが膨らむ。番組に出てきたすき焼きは早速作ってみたが、牛肉と万願寺とうがらしとトマトだけでさっぱりと夏の味覚が美味しい。観光だけでなく、いろいろな角度で京都らしさを感じることのできるいい番組だ。全国各地あるといいなぁ。(絵と文:サカキテツ朗)
My stay in a townhouse in Kyoto will be 10 days. I was able to spend time going to Nishiki Market to buy ingredients and finding delicious Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. Among them, the 2015 NHK BS TV program "The Secret Funs of Kyoto People" was very interesting. One program conveys the fun of Kyoto in the four seasons, with dramas, documentaries, and cooking lessons. Two hours program did not bore us due to a composition. I watched it while drinking sake and thinking of ideas for what to do tomorrow. I tried to make the sukiyaki that appeared in the program immediately, and the taste of summer was delicious with only beef, Manganji Togarashi and tomatoes. It's a good program where I can feel the uniqueness of Kyoto from various angles as well as sightseeing. I hope programs like this will be all over the country. -Text and illustration by Ted Sakaki
