「小倉城庭園」福岡県

江戸時代の小倉藩主・小笠原家の下屋敷（御遊所）を発掘調査に基づき復元したもの。武家書院と城の石垣を利用した庭園。現在では城の背景には複合商業施設「リバーウォーク北九州」のカラフルで個性的なビルが立ち並んでいる。江戸時代の様式の建物と奇抜な現代建築が同居する不思議な風景がそこにある。「なんだこの醜悪な風景は」と怒りを覚える人もいるかもしれない。そこには一見何のつながりも感じられないが、庭園の池に置かれた主石の石組みをよく見て欲しい。過去と現在は意外なところで繋がっている。日本庭園を愛するあなたならきっとその繋がりを見つけられるはず。

This garden was restored in the state of the Edo period based on the excavation survey. Today the castle is surrounded by modern, colorful and distinctive buildings. There is a mysterious scenery where the style of the Edo period building and modern architecture live together. Although I do not feel any connection at first glance, I want you to look at the stone structure placed in the pond in the garden. Past and present may be connected in surprising places.
