Well,giving into the buzz I did go to check out what the hype was about and was actually not "AMAZED" to my peers' astonishment. According to me this movie let me down, the sole reason being my inexplicable(a tad too much) expectation of being swept off my feet with the movie content. But this movie definitely deserves acclaim for the wonderful cinematography and obviously for the ONE AND ONLY THE 'JOKER' JOAQUIN PHOENIX.
Mind blowing performance of Phoenix was perhaps the only good thing that will always echo in my mind. The portrayal of the fact that the society was the murderer and not him didn't strike the right chords in my heart. The society is and will always be unjust to someone or the other, but that cannot be the driving force for someone to steer towards the criminal mindset. Hence I couldn't empathize with the psycho-delusional character of the 'JOKER' which was being hailed to by some. The extreme darkness and psycho murderer traits were beautifully enacted but it failed to enthrall me.
The film JOKER is a pure masterpiece in terms of both drama and content, but did not live up to my expectations.

Where is the narrative?
Imagine if this film wasn't associated with Batman, how would you feel about it.
There is such a menagerie of emotions in this film. You feel bad for the Joker, yet disgusted by his actions. Jacquin is incredible bringing the weirdness of his akward character to life. His moves, his words, his emotions and his thoughts are all absorbed watching his on screen. This is award winning acting and writing.
