Introduction of the shop!

We started 'aka tombo coffee' in June 2020, when Keiko and Chris opened the doors after six months of preparation, design and construction. We had relocated to Nara from Melbourne, Australia in 2019 to begin a new phase of our lives and to be closer to family. Our main theme running throughout aka tombo coffee is always communication. We see ourselves as a connection between East and West and want to encourage as many as possible to bridge the gap. We run English language sessions most days with a focus on natural spoken English, and strive to provide a comfortable, friendly and inclusive space for all to study, chat and of course, drink coffee!
