I remember when i was like 9 or 10, my teacher made us watch this movie after reading the book and i didnt sleep for the next week.

Looks so cute - been along time since a good kid / parent movie came out just for the fun of it! Great cast too - cant wait. How cool would it have been to bring that mr bean actor and have him in this somehow. When I was about 8 years old, I first discovered Alvin Schwartz's Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books. They were really my entry into horror fiction, as actually horror movies scared the pants off of me when I was young (though I would still study the boxes of the VHS tapes at my local rental shop. The Scary Stories books weren't really that scary, but the illustrations by Stephen Gammell haunted me, some continue to haunt me. They're all black and white, but have this otherworldly feel about them. I really hope that Guillermo Del Toro's upcoming films (he's producing, sadly not directing) captures the feel of those illustrations.

Interesting little fact; in the 1978 version of 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' as the movie goes on, there's less and less ambient noise. The director did this to give sort of an auditory cue that more and more people are being assimilated as time goes on. It's subtle but you pick up on it subconsciously and it adds to an already very eerie atmosphere. I agree too, I think the 78' version is the best adaptation and it's my favorite alien invasion movie too.
