LETTER FROM HAPPY ENGLISH SCHOOL April 8th 2017

Hello. The spring vacation is over. Cherry blossoms are in full bloom and spring is in full swing. It is still chilly, though.

Did you study English during the spring vacation? I listen to CNN while doing housework and read the textbook “Business Communication in Action” while waiting at the station, at the hospital or for someone. I devote my spare time to listening and reading English. I hope you spend your time efficiently and learn many things at odd moments.

Unfortunately, I cannot make time to read books these days. I need to read a lot more books to master English so that I can express any feelings and describe any situations. In addition to that, I am required to explain things Japanese, such as Japanese history, geography, custom, tradition, politics, economy, trends, fashion, culture, pop culture and subculture when I teach and when I have foreign guests.

Learning is really fun. I try hard to let everybody feel the same way when they study English and want to encourage them to learn a lot and appreciate learning.

春休みも終わりました。休み中は英語を勉強しましたか？　英語を勉強しなくてもなんなりと英語に触れてもらいたいです。隙間時間に私はCNNを聞いて、待ち時間に実践ビジネス英語のテキストを読んでいます。近頃、本を読む時間がほとんどないのが残念です。本は知識の宝庫。英語でも日本語たくさん読んでいろんなことを英語でもっと表現できるようになりたいと思っています。

外国のお客さんが来ると日本のことを伝えることが多くなります。日本のことを知らなければ、日本人が英語を話す意味が半減するでしょう。日本人が英語をマスターするということは、日本のことを英語で適切に表現できることであると思います。知識を積んで英語を磨いていくように、皆さんにも学ぶことの喜びを実感してもらうように頑張ります。

どこでも英語を見たら読んでみる、理解しようとする。英語を聞くと何か聞き取りしてみる、理解しようとすると貪欲に英語学習に取り組んでください。話す機会があればどんどん話し、まめに英語を書いて、みてもらう。実際にやってみましょう。
