日本の四季　～梅雨（つゆ）～　Rainy season in Japan

梅雨（つゆ）というのは、東（ひがし）アジアにはあると言（い）いますが、日本（にほん）の梅雨（つゆ）とは違（ちが）うようです。

It is said that the rainy season is in East Asia, but it seems to be different from the rainy season in Japan.

その時期（じき）が6月（ろくがつ）に当（あ）たります。

That time is June.

1カ月近（いっかげつちか）くも、雨降（あめふ）りの日（ひ）が続（つづ）くことも有（あ）ります。

Rainy days can last for nearly a month

誰（だれ）もが、この時期（じき）を嫌（きら）います。

Everyone hates this time of year.

じめじめとして、洗濯物（せんたくもの）も中々干（なかなかほ）せません。

As a dampness, the laundry cannot be dried.

又（また）、出（で）かけるにも、濡（ぬ）れやすく、億劫（おっくう）にもなりやすいです。

Also, when you go out, it's easy to get wet and it's easy to get tired.

昔（むかし）は、各家庭（かくかてい）で、子供（こども）たちは、この時期（じき）、雨（あめ）が降（ふ）りつづくので、布（ぬの）きれで、「てるてる坊主（ぼうず）」と言（い）う人形（にんぎょう）を作（つく）って、天気（てんき）に成（な）れと願（ねが）いました。

In the olden days, in each household, children continued to rain during this time, so they made a doll called "Teru Teru Bōzu" with a piece of cloth and wished for the weather

これが過（す）ぎると、「夏本番（なつほんばん）」がやってきます。

この花(はな）は「あじさい」です。

This flowers  is called "Ajisai"

あじさいは、酸性（さんせい）が強（つよ）い土（つち）は、青色（あおいろ）の花（はな）になり、そうでない時（とき）は、ピンクや白（しろ）になります。

Hydrangea, strongly acidic soil turns blue flowers, otherwise it turns pink or white.
