Dear, I have Dell Poweredge 2950 server with (6x146GB) HDD, Iam want to use this server to installation windows server 2003 ENT. i have two controller, controller0 have four HDD and How to use the Dell PERC Configuration Utility to clear the config of a foreign disk. I had a disk failure in a Dell PowerEdge R710 server recently and as the server itself is due to be decomissioned soon and we have a few spare HDDs available of the correct type, we decided to use one of them. I was browsing Facebook Marketplace and I found someone selling a Dell Poweredge 2950(not sure which model) for cheap. It came with 16gb of ram, 2 146gb 15K SAS drives, 2x xeon quad cores 1.6ghz, and a usb 3.0 card. Question: On my DELL PowerEdge server, in the front panel, I see this error message: W1228 Raid controller battery capacity <24hr error message. I've seen this error message on various Poweredge servers including 2950, R610, R710. And on different PERC controller including Perc 6/i , H700, etc.
