summary - Dominic Cobb is the foremost practitioner of the artistic science of extraction, inserting oneself into a subject's dreams to obtain hidden information without the subject knowing, a concept taught to him by his professor father-in-law, Dr. Stephen Miles. Dom's associates are Miles' former students, who Dom requires as he has given up being the dream architect for reasons he won't disclose. Dom's primary associate, Arthur, believes it has something to do with Dom's deceased wife, Mal, who often figures prominently and violently in those dreams, or Dom's want to "go home" (get back to his own reality, which includes two young children). Dom's work is generally in corporate espionage. As the subjects don't want the information to get into the wrong hands, the clients have zero tolerance for failure. Dom is also a wanted man, as many of his past subjects have learned what Dom has done to them. One of those subjects, Mr. Saito, offers Dom a job he can't refuse: to take the concept one step further into inception, namely planting thoughts into the subject's dreams without them knowing. Inception can fundamentally alter that person as a being. Saito's target is Robert Michael Fischer, the heir to an energy business empire, which has the potential to rule the world if continued on the current trajectory. Hmm i am going to keep this short and sweet, this is way overrated, ir's not great and it's not bad... however the 2 or so hours felt like 7 hours after watching this.
Now i watch movies constantly, i even find myself quite intelligent around films etc But this film is way, way overrated... the best bits of the film was actually believe it or not the drama sides of things... the story line was way over board and at times i felt like going to sleep with boredom. However this being said the acting was good and the stunts etc Just like Batman another overrated piece of work... maybe if i watch a second time it might be different.
All i can say is go and see it if there's nothing else worth watching, Also don't watch it if you don't understand films as you won't understand this. And don't watch it because you see a high 9.2 rating and loads of overrated comments on here. br>

It's a brain-twister, believe you me! A daredevilry narrative experiment by writer-director Nolan is every bit as nail biting as it is adhesive.
A hi-tech security consultant (DiCaprio) has devised a contraption that allows him to sneak into people's dreams and extract vital corporate secrets. To complicate matters, his own subconscious is haunted by the figure of his late wife (Cotillard) and their two young children. Moreover, his new mission is fraught with danger as it involves planting an idea in the target's mind instead of merely pilfering one.
Assembling a crack team, the 'dream thief' sends them (and us) down the proverbial rabbit hole where nothing is as it seems.
Needless to say, Inception forever confounds the viewer's expectations. Leaving little doubt as to his talent as a story teller, Nolan demands our undivided attention.
The film is given a further boost not only from Leonardo DiCaprio's persuasive performance but from the imaginative set designs, gravity-defying stunts and a pulse- pounding musical score by Hans Zimmer.
Inception is recommended whole-heartedly for those who love skittish encounters.
