Disney knows how gullible their fan base is. This is the most agonising version of an explanation on ANYTHING. A movie larger than life, a soundtrack out of this world. A phenomenon to witness. The core melody always resonates in mind, chris and hans combo is a masterpiece in making. When i hear this it makes me feel the weight of feeling lonely in the universe, but it also makes me realize how little space there is between us as a species. Somewhere out there is another group of individuals grounded on their planet like us. I wish we could just reach out to the universe, but for now we need to cherish our ability to hold those we love, to not have to say goodbye, and to stay. If we cant see this, then our hope for our descendants to meet other lifeforms will be rendered useless. I can only hope we can appreciate out time in the mud so it can inform us how to respond to our inevitable journey to the stars.

My girlfriend passed away almost a year ago, I know this movie is SCI-FI, but the movie and this score itself gives me hope that someday, somehow I will see her again. Dang I wish Star Citizen based its effects off of this. To anyone with a background in physics, this movie wasnt “deep” or profound in any way. The plot is basically: the universe is scary and unknown but human connection is what saves us blah blah blah. I mean it has a decent respect for the physics its based on but there are so many plot points that make no sense within the context they built. First of all, we know of plenty of exoplanets and we are constantly looking for more, there is no way they would waste time and resources going to a planet ORBITING A BLACK HOLE, that was only in the movie as a plot device, and in real life we would be able to tell if that planet was habitable way before we actually set foot on it. Same with the other planets, youre telling me that these people have a self sufficient interstellar ship and AI drones but they dont have the ability to send down a rover to test the atmosphere and soil? Basically, everything in this movie was forced, all the conflict and dramatic moments could have been avoided if the characters were actually scientists. Humans are a lot more cautious in real life, there would be weeks and weeks of math and trajectory calculations etc. Before they ever set out for these planets. And as neil tyson pointed out, there are much closer and easier planets to inhabit, like mars. Overall, the whole plot seemed like a weak excuse to show some cool space cgi, and the science it is based on completely breaks down after he goes into the black hole, and becomes fiction. Even before that, you have anne hathaway giving some cheesy unscientific ramble about love transcending dimensions which was totally pointless other than foreshadowing the ending. This movie could have been an exploration of humanities limits, mortality, consciousness, because thats what good scifi does. They took the cheaper and dumbed down love story/family route, which is a story I have seen a million times before in other blockbusters. If you want a good scifi space movie, go watch europa report. I might add, that having accurate physics in scifi doesnt make it good scifi, a lot of amazing scifi has innacurate physics or is based in alternate realities where the rules of physics are different. Being scientifically accurate doesnt make you a good writer either, clearly. I can see how people without an understanding of physics might be impressed with this film, as you are hearing about some of these concepts for the first time, but please, if you want to learn about science, read a book. A brief history of time, The dancing wu-li masters, or the grand design are all good options for the layman.
