How to Take Dislike Medicines|2021/11/19
My daughter got a fever. I got medicine at the hospital, and I had a hard time getting it to take. I use a dropper to put it in her mouth, but it's better if she can drink half of it. She resists by flapping her limbs, shaking her head, or closing her mouth tightly. Furthermore, it is a battle with her spitting and attacking with bubbles and crying and screaming. One day, when I handed the dropper to her, she gladly put it in her mouth. When I try it with medicine, she is happy to take it. Moreover, no drop is left. It seems that she resisted being put in her mouth, not because she hated the medicine. That's why she is good at putting it in her mouth. There is no recognition that it is a medicine in the first place. I should have noticed earlier. -Text and illustration by Ted Sakaki
