You've probably heard of the ice age. But, have you ever seen it?Ice Age 3 is a computer animated film about Sid and his friends who must battle an acrid and bitter world that has become way too cold to live in. The movie follows Sid and his friends on an epic journey back to the tropical grasslands of their ancestors before time ran out for them forever. The film's plot centers on Dry-Mouth, a weasel-like sabre-toothed squirrel with a severe case of hibernation sickness, who is unintentionally awoken by Scrat from inside a tree he had been buried under millions of years ago. Sid and his friends discover that the weather has changed, and is now filled with extremely cold winds and snowing during the winter. They set out on a journey to travel south, where it is only warm and tropical. They meet up with different animals along the way; many of whom are hostile towards each other due to their territorial habits. During this journey, they earn their father-son relationship as Sid gives Scrat a new family to love like how Manny gave him one as well as Buck becomes an adoptive father to his son Crash after becoming a father-figure for Sid. The group also encounters many friends like Razor, who joins up with them after he is abandoned by his club. After many adventures, they finally reach their goal goal; prehistoric times where there was no ice or snow. This makes Dry-Mouth finally feel better. On the other hand, Scrat has become very lazy and selfish to the point where he refuses to help Sid and Buck make it back home while Sid learns about Manny's life before the Ice Age began.During their travels, they encounter Scrat's rival; a fox named Fuzzles who was banished by his father for stealing food because of an evolutionary defect in his tail that causes him to run at high speeds over short distances until he freezes. The group takes him in after he tells them why he stole the food. They encourage him to join their team and help find a way back home.When Sid and his friends reach a flooding river, they must use a boat so they will not get washed away by it. However, Sid accidentally breaks it when Scrat loses his bag of acorns that has been with him for over 20 years. The group then must flee from a family of underwater sea-dwelling mammals known as the Shell Lougers because Dry-Mouth thought they were going to eat them while trying to get new transportation since Scrat almost destroyed the boat. While they were on the Shell Lougers' ship, Sid and his friends learn that they are on a mission to rescue their stolen baby (Goneosaur), and they let them join them on their quest. When the Shell Lougers learn where their baby is located, they chase after him. Sid and his friends escape from the ship before it goes out of control and crashes into another oceanic animal's home. They also decide that it would be best to leave Scrat behind while they continue onto finding a way back home.
