Hollywood has made a lot of films and TV shows based around the Ice Age series, and it’s no surprise because the characters and stories are incredibly entertaining to watch. If you loved the first two films in this franchise, you’ll love Ice Age: The Meltdown. Maybe not as much as the other two installments though, but it is quite enjoyable nonetheless. It features Sid as he tries to salvage his territory one more time by raiding a rival territory that he thinks will be an easy prey for him. However, things don’t go as planned when they realize that these new enemies aren’t so easily taken down after all... Ice Age: The Meltdown is going to introduce a whole new set of characters, and will be a lot more action-packed than the first two films. Scrat, Sid and Diego will still be in this movie though, so it’s going to have a nice mix of both old and new characters in here. It’ll also have higher-quality animation than the previous films, so that should also help improve the overall feel of this movie.Of course, since this is almost guaranteed to be better than the first two films, you should know that I would suggest skipping those ones if you haven’t seen them yet. After all, those movies aren’t as high-budget or as good as this one is going to be. Still, I think the first two movies deserve some credit for getting this franchise off the ground in the first place, even if they aren’t on the same level as this new film. At least they can be used to show your younger siblings if you want them to see a little action and adventure here and there.The plot of Ice Age: The Meltdown is going to center around a lot more action than comedy. In fact, this movie is largely based around Sid trying to raid a smaller group of animals from a new territory that he wants to expand his own territory further. Unfortunately, his plan isn’t going as planned and he’s going to have to save the day in a more dramatic way this time around.Just like the other movies, you can still expect a lot of great humor and lots of entertainment during all this. It’s not going to be as funny as the previous two movies though, but it will still have plenty of laughs. Plus, it also won’t be boring at all during those times when you just want something that doesn’t always feature “animals doing stuff for no reason whatsoever” or “animals doing nothing but talking about nothing for an hour and thirty minutes". The animation in Ice Age: The Meltdown is going to be better than the previous two films, just like I said with the story. That’s not too surprising though. After all, they have a lot more money to work with this time around. Also, the previous films were made when this series was finding its legs. Now that they can really bring their A-game to the table, it will look even better than before! Some of my favorite moments from Ice Age 2 are when there are groups of animals talking about something without any cutaway shots whatsoever. Those are great moments because you can really see how well they can animate animals doing things for no reason at all.
