Pc download speed only 50 mbps

 · The speed is less than 50 MBPS!!! I contacted Verizon through chat and they tried to tell me the speed was in the s and that's all I could expect from a wireless connection for my Imac. They were less than helpful. All I know is that 50 MBPS isn't anywhere near 50% of a gig.  · Other PC's have no issue and get Mb/s+ depending on age. New Ubiquiti Edge X router last month with basic setup, no QOS or anything fancy. 2nd new PC is capped at 12Mb/s internet speed but has full MB/s+ LAN transfers. Same user complained of slow internet speeds prior to the new PC so I suspect the problem was there previously as well. Almost all ISP's will tell you your speed in Mb(megabit) so if you pay for a 50/50 connection. You should be able to see about MB/s download on a good day using a cabled connection without anyone else on the network downloading.

I wouldn't expect to see more than Mbps over 5GHz on that router. To increase your speed, you'll have to use a wider band for 5GHz. Ok, so it's reporting MB/s, or mbps. Go to your network adapter in Windows, right click, status. See the 'speed' reported. If that's a good speed, and your router isn't configured to limit your speed in any way, it's time to start testing your hardware. Network cables (or wifi signal strength if applicable), router and PC network ports. They offered me 20Mbps speed with a FUP of 60GB,there after only 2Mbps.. I bought a Cisco router to get connected to my Laptop through WIFI. Speed was an average of -Download 8Mbps and upload 14 to 16 Mbps. Why this?. Sudden Slowdown in Internet Speed on One Laptop Only in Network and Sharing Good day, Up until recently Ive had a steady and stable internet connection on all devices, however recently on one laptop the connection is now incredibly slow (multiple tests on topfind247.co show download speeds of Mbps while on another. Its not really the incoming speed I have a problem with. I’m pulling down mb/s, which is way more than I need. Who the *F* knows whats in it!. 0. . #1. All of a sudden the WiFi download on my personal Dell laptop seems to be capped at 5 Mbps on a connection of 40 Mbps. Laptop is right next to the router. I was getting 40 just few days back. I'm getting 40Mbps on all other devices getting 40 on the laptop via Ethernet. Just not on WiFi.
