Any reason to download microsoft from app store

After an hour or so of being caught in a loading screen cycle, a reboot allowed me to open the app store. But now I can't download anything. Same problem that a lot of others are having. I just got an email as I was typing this.

The notification popped up but now the mail app won't open. This feels like Windows 10 is still in beta. Basic functions that should work on day one, doesn't and no one seems to know why.
