At the start of the game, just after obtaining your starter, you'll be able to talk to an NPC off to the side in the Grand Hall that takes you to the Sandbox's new map, where one will find several NPCs that do a variety of things.

From purchasing practically every item under the sun, to being able to grind EVs off of dedicated trainers, to having easy access to the Nature Switcher, Day Care, and Move Tutors all on the same map- it's there and waiting to be used however you want.

Sandbox Mode also does not modify any of the existing game content, so you don't need to worry about anything being changed at all! However, for the time being, Sandbox Mode has netplay disabled until Reborn itself is completed. This is for fairness reasons, as players who play Sandbox would have an extra advantage over players not using Sandbox as a result of some of the features.

I created Sandbox Mode primarily for the people who want to do customized runs of Reborn. Those types of runs are extremely popular and prolific, and I figured that something like this could definitely benefit those who want to do something like a mono-type run. But honestly, I'm a proponent for people having fun, and giving them the tools to have fun however they want, and as long as they aren't ruining other people's runs, then why not let them do what they want?

A list of what these NPCs are can be found here, under the spoiler:. If you're interested, a download link for the mod and the online version of the guide for the mod can be found here:. As an additional note, if you're going to promote the mod, please link back to both this forum thread as well as to Reborn itself.

The first one is to ensure people download the up-to-date versions, the second one is out of respect to Amethyst and the other developers of Reborn. Hopefully you guys enjoy, and that this inspires you to do even more things with your runs than before! If you use it, feel free to post about your experiences here or across the community, I'd love to see people make use of this! If something does, inform me and I'll look into it and see if I can fix it.

DerxwnaKapsyla 48 posts. Waynolt 49 posts. Starry Knight 30 posts. Paul25 25 posts. May 27, Pokemon Reborn: Sandbox Mode What is a sandbox? So, lets apply. January 2, I apologize for being silent for so long, my schedule has been really My game dev juice have been d.

May 31, This is the most delayed response to anything ever but; I'm not dead, real life has been giving me the ultra kick in the rear for the past year, and quite frankly that isn't so much an explanation as. I'll have the download link up shortly, it's uploading right now and shouldn't take much longer! You made a nice play mode for everyone. Thank you very much. This kind of mode is quite good.

It makes special runs easier to execute and it gives more time to enjoy the content of the game itself. Good work! The download link has been properly added to the post now, so NOW you can go ahead and enjoy it! DerxwnaKapsyla thanks for this. I can experiment reborn with my fav pokemons. Thanks a lot you have my gratitude DerxwnaKapsyla. Sandbox Mode has netplay disabled until Reborn itself is completed. I would also like to say, if you guys can think of anything else that Sandbox Mode could benefit from, feel free to mention it here.

I'll try and look into adding them into later builds if I'm able to! Fixed mail being super easily hackable and, if you can believe it, making it possible to cause chunk reversion. No, really. I'm going to very specifically not make a joke about this. Fixed sounds. Fixed an issue with Ranch Blocks accessing data outside of their block bounds causing issues with other tile entities.

Fixed Rattata showing up as "Ratatta" in the main config's Ditto transformation section. What even is a Ratatta? Fixed the BattleEndedEvent's results being inconsistent when the Full Heal battle rule was used in the battle. Reworked water surface spawns so that way more places count as water surface, making things like Lapras much easier to find. Increased the duration of dawn and dusk in spawning, which also makes Lapras easier to find.

Made legendary spawning much more aggressive so that it will keep trying different players until either it runs out or until a legendary spawns. Allow the healer to be dye-able if there was no data on who placed it.

Allows you to dye healers from pre 7. Fixed clocks becoming ever increasingly wrong by each passing mc day. They were just like the ones in my living room.

Added new healer models! It only took a few years, no big deal. Fixed Leaf Stone ore creating blank spaces if you're in Spectator Mode, instead of being like normal stone. Fixed trainer NPCs being able to mega evolve more then once per battle. Computers always cheat I tell you! Dobby is not free. Fixed Wingull being exactly as common as Magikarps when you're on a beach.

Literally a seagull for every fish in the sea. Showdown called them Alola forms; we call them Alolan forms. Added a bunch of new advancements. Now with wiki pages! See here. Buzzwole can now spawn on the tops of trees. He's big enough that he can't really spawn under them.

Whacky stuff! Fixed Silvally not being counted as a legendary due to a typo! Fixed Litleo evolving into a male Pyroar even if it was originally a female. I was going to make a joke here but I saw what happened to Changelog Guy and I want to live. Explaining that bug is a long story. Fixed computer boxes not actually saving the name and wallpaper. No Karen, I don't want to talk about it. Fixed rarity multipliers and composite spawning conditions not working properly in pretty much all cases.

Fixed statues being really, really good at staying still, making it impossible to move them to where you actually wanted them to be in the first place. Fixed the Soft-Boiled TM saying that it's corrupted for some reason. A bad egg. Please don't fire me this is the only job I could get. Fixed shiny particles not working. You got us. There's no fooling you guys. Fixed the Gracidea flower having a x size texture Sandile doesn't even deserve that high a resolution.

Ok, maybe Sandile does. Fixed battles being updated twice as fast as we wanted, causing some lag when a lot of battles are happening. That last one is really funny in Ditto v Ditto. Fixed an absolute TON of language translation issues with battles on servers, like it not translating things to your native language and instead using the server's language.

Added StorageManagerLoadEvent to majorly help with customising the adapter or scheduler for the default storage manager. Healer-use events now have access to the player using the healer tile and the BlockPos of the healer used.

Added an "ultrabeast" tag to all the Ultra Beasts for those that want to add a cooldown onto Ultra Beast spawning. Changed breeding with Alolans. Read our wiki on breeding for how this works now, because it isn't like the games! Fixed Oricorio's wings clipping into the ground during his animations. Fixed the evolution into Alolan Raichu, Cubone, and Exeggutor. Having an Alolan in your party at the time will evolve them.

Fixed a move-replacing error from spamming your console. To find the exact cause, we've added some debug code. Fixed attempting to catch Wimpod causing kicking due to no catch rate. It's a strange world. It was opposite day when it was added? You can't prove otherwise. Fixed the Tapus not being counted as legendaries for some things like IVs and announcements and stuff.

You can also do that from the PC, now. Fixed Beast Boost checking accuracy and evasion, and so always boosting evasion. Someone didn't read Bulbapedia properly. You did. It now runs after you pick a starter and has the correct text. Fixed some TMs that had incorrect move names. Major caching set up for the Better Spawner which will hopefully prevent the blockages that slowed spawning down. Fixed a bug where pc's would be marked for saving but never unmarked.

Causing them to be saved on every save interval afterwards. Thank you, eva08maicy02, for this spectacular contribution! Added particle effects for hundreds of moves so far in battle! I'm being told by the old guy that this has been requested for 6 years. Alright, well, Santa was running late. Added Ultra Space dimension! Portals spawn in the wild, or you can use an external move of Lunala and Solgaleo to make one!

It's basically exactly what DNA Splicers do, though? Added the Beast Ball. Technically it's been in for a while, but it wasn't in the creative menu before so now it's added! Primal forms can now be bosses, and now also spawn. Groudon in arid biomes, and Kyogre in oceanic biomes. If they still did then our particle animations would be off! This is for the good of everyone, believe me.

Fixed fences and glass panes from connecting to PCs, trade machines, washing machines, fans, and mowers. That one was a bit embarrassing.

Potentially not though, developers are useless. That's been bugged for years! Fixed an exploit with ranch block upgrades where they could be used without being taken from the inventory. Fixed Gen 6 sprites being a different height to the other sprites. You probably saw this as a bug with the egg sprites. Fixed a possible crash from breaking a cloning machine that's been cut in half by world edit or something. Completely rewrote storage and EntityPixelmon.

Every sidemod is probably broken. This will be better, trust me. Seems like cheating but what do I know. Added config options for intercepting Pixelmon loot table injection so you can cancel our changes to the loot.

Added Gliscor and Volcanion as flying mounts because it looks great. What do you mean it doesn't make sense? We're doing it anyway, you can't stop us.

Thank you?? QAQ for helping us find this! Fixed modified block spawns e. We bought them new glasses, it was fine. Fixed Yveltal being a land spawn, instead of an air spawn. Developers, man. Fixed Unown needing night time to spawn despite spawning in caves. Even Patch Notes Guy knows that caves are dark all day long, and his only qualification is typing. Fixed fishing rods still having a chance to fail despite being able to catch things in that location.

Fixed Trainer Cards being able to see what is inside eggs. We gave the Trainer Cards' glasses to the block spawners. Using ',' instead of '. Fixed Rotom having some of its forms moves as tutor moves and getting passed down with breeding due to old mechanics.

Fixed Water Stone and Fire Stone tools giving infinite obsidian when used on non-source blocks. Now you get cobblestone like you should. Fixed Mega Slowbro and Mega Blastoise having little chance of spawning due to only being on land in ocean biomes.

Fixed Cloning Machines increasing the Mew's times cloned when it's put into the machine instead of when the machine does the cloning. Fixed the mower inventory GUI continuing to work after the actual mower was destroyed. No more dupes 4 u. Shrunk computer data file sizes even more, speeding up saving. Also made the shrinking retroactive so when someone logs in their PCs shrink in data size.

PostEvolve preEvo is now a much closer clone of the original entity before evolution. Added ISyncHandler for forcefully main-threaded packet handlers. Unless you're doing client modding this probably means nothing to you. I wonder what's going in the next version? It's SO unclear. As is my style, by taking it and using it to do something fun and interesting but also not particularly useful! The Tournament in question was an impromptu Round Robin where every single trainer in the game battled every other one!

So buckle up! This is gonna be a fun and goofy ride but there's also gonna be probably more statistics and spreadsheets than you expect!!! Now, to begin, lets explain the setup. We did three runs of this tournament, in three distinct formats although the third is special for reasons that will be apparent.

In ALL formats, all pokemon were set to Level , although movesets were retained. This specifically detriments that one random FEAR trainer in the Desert so he underperformed compared to how he should've, but also fuck that guy that's what he gets for running FEAR. The first was just the initial idea and attempt at this, just to see what happens.

The second was an extension when I remembered double battles exist. And the third was very much more an interest piece of like 'Hey, lets see how the leaders perform in their best case scenario' because I thought it would be super interesting to compare and see how that looks!

Now, a few methodological points for anybody that is interested: I know I really should have run all of these two or three times each because there's rng involved and stuff, but also everybody fighting everybody else is in the ballpark of a million battles which, surprise surprise, actually takes quite a while to run!

So you'll have to deal with the fact these were only run once so, as in any good pokemon tournament, there may have been some RNG-caused upsets! Second, outside of some specifically interesting cases, I will be talking in terms of a percentage winrate instead of number of wins just because these tests were done as we were working on some postgame trainers so there were slightly different numbers of trainers in each format, but not enough that I feel like it skews the results enough to rerun things!

And that's that! We ran this, it spat out the result of every single fight, then I spent a few weeks messing around in a very large spreadsheet and got the data organised nicely and analysed! So, some last bits of intro logistics to this concept and then I can finally like, actually start the main content of this post! I will be splitting this into two main sections. In Part One I'll talk about the general results, specifically in formats 1 and 2 , pointing out anything notable or relevant in the top 10, 50 or that I think stands out!

In Part Two, I'll focus in specifically on the Gym Leaders and talk more in depth about their performance in all three formats, and give some analysis about what that means about their performance in general! And also, you should probably familiarize yourself with two shorthands I am going to be using: Illegal - This should be self explanatory. A trainer has an illegal team if it has something it would be impossible for the player to get. Things like illegal EVs via PULSE2, PULSE mons generally, shenanigans with illegal movesets, and just the complete and utter fuckery we have in store for you with the top secret postgame Dev fights because we made the game and we don't have to follow the rules.

Bullshit - A trainer's team is Bullshit if it is bullshit. Like, sure, running 6 Psychic Type Legendaries because fuck there are so many of those with a Tapu Lele lead that all have optimised statspreads and movesets designed specifically to fuck you up on Psychic Terrain is technically legal and the player could also do that, but the AI doing it is still bullshit. So, without further ado Part One: Fieldless So, lets talk about Singles first. Including me! Hell yeah.

The rest of us devs need to step our game up, clearly. Most of the remaining spots in the top 10 aren't too notable. There's a lot of Bullshit. Heck, the specific team I used as the example to define Bullshit is in there. Oh, and Lin is in there too somewhere but don't worry about that. What I want to talk about is 3rd place. In E19, in fact.

You fight them in E So, y'know, good luck with that. On the bright side, E19 isn't all bad. The very first gym leader with a team of NFE mons with terrible statspreads and movesets.

Sure, it was hard like an hour into the game, but So at least you know that when you play E19 you'll just be able to relax and that fight won't cause any problems at all!

Dev fights, postgame bullshit, some illegal shenanigans. A few victory road battles made it in which is neat!

Also lets all give a round of applause to Baby's First Illegal team which is only really barely Illegal, which is the E18 fight against Solaris in Agate City, with the PULSE2 on his Garchomp - You'd hope he performed well given Singles with No Field is the format he actually fights on, and he doesn't disappoint, all the way up at 32nd place, the highest ranking trainer that is already in the current version of the game!

But still. Dev fights are very illegal. There's a lot of postgame bullshit here. Everything in the top 50 is Illegal or Bullshit or both. Well, except for one trainer. The highest ranking 'Fair' which I use as shorthand to mean neither Bullshit nor Illegal trainer managed to make it to 46th place. I hope you're all ready for the gym battle against Saphira in E19!!!! But we can talk more about that in Part Two. Before that, though, lets look at how things are different in Fieldless Doubles!

Dev Team Lia still dominates at first place; her team is too good. The top 10 is once again 6 devs, although not the same 6 as before. Alas I am the one that has been dunked on, in doubles I fell all the way down to 20th place and Cass kicked my butt and is now all the way up at 5th place Indeed, this theme is going to be apparent - While Doubles-centric teams can perform reasonably well still on Singles, a lot of the big hitters from Single battles seriously struggled battling in doubles.
