If you love Sanderson, then definitely go read this. But don't pay 45 dollars for it because it really isn't worth it. View 2 comments. It contains summary information and sketches for the first two books of The Stormlight Archive. It is 30 pages long. It is an attractive volume, with nice artwork and coverwork and binding, but very light on content.

It also includes drawings and descriptions of the flora, biology, ecology, demographics of the world Brandon Sanderson is building in the Stormlight Archives series.

It is his prerogative as a writer to focus his creativity on what he wants to write about. Evidently his creative flow is not with the Stormlight Archive series right now.
Whenever the third book in the series is published maybe I'll read it and maybe I won't. Dec 03, Elizabeth Molyneaux rated it liked it. There is a lot less in this than I anticipated Personally I would recommend checking out the Stormlight wiki or 17th shard rather than this pocket companion.
While the information in it was cohesive and easily accessible, it didn't read too well and I felt the structure left a little to be desired. As it is a factual companion to the series, I had hoped to see some decent referencing rather than pure info regurgitation. I appreciated the quotes and general information, but I would have liked There is a lot less in this than I anticipated I appreciated the quotes and general information, but I would have liked to be able to go and find the quotes afterwards, or know from a glance from which book the quote or information came.
I think it is a cute little collectible, but little more than that. Nov 26, Mike Booth rated it really liked it. A nice little reminder of the world of Roshar, and some of the main things from the books so far. It seems to not have been written by Sanderson himself, from the way some of it is phrased, but it was still good to have a reminder before I dive back into the world in Dawnshard. I kind of wanted to read it more for completness' sake than anything else, but it was still nice to do so, and especially see those fantastic drawings again.

Their existence has given the people of Roshar a working germ theory of disease and allowed them to develop sophisticated surgical hygiene routines.
They looked like motes of glowing green dust or swarms of tiny translucent insects. Lifespren are most likely to appear in the blossoming stage directly after a Highstorm, when plants hungrily drink in stormwater. This might highlight the fact that spren are tied to the storms, especially considering how both spren and storms are absent from Shinovar.
Some spren seem to pass judgment on how well humans are succeeding at their performative tasks. It is now sitting in my Downloads file in Windows I even tried dragging it over through File Explorer to the Kindle, and nada.
