Hostgator file manager download folder

2021.12.17 02:00

I overlooked it at first and then discovered its value when I had a serious issue. It was only when I accessed one of my theme files to mess around with some code and went to save my alterations that I ended up in a sticky situation.

My site crashed and my WordPress dashboard froze. I opened up a new window to log back in to my WordPress dashboard and it came back with a message stating fatal errors. I felt sick, I thought I had lost everything.

After I had collected my thoughts, I searched the internet for an answer and within an hour my site was back up. I was able to access my site files via my HostGator control panel CPanel file manager and undo what I had done.

This was a key learning for me on how important it is to do things properly. I have since discovered this situation can arise even when you do everything by the book. I found this had happened to other people just by them uploading a new WordPress plugin or theme via their WordPress dashboard. With the appropriate files and folders selected, click Copy or Move File from the top menu. Alternatively, you can right-click on the selected files and folders and select Copy or Move from the menu as shown below.

Click Copy File s or Move File s to place the file to its destination. A home directory backup will backup all of the files in your home directory. This can be useful for backing up the files for your site; however, it is only a partial backup, and it will not include DNS, MySQL, or other system files and settings. A new page will be opened, and you just need to select the zip file from your computer, the Uploader will start the transfer automatically.

When the task is complete, come back to your files and locate the new compressed folder that was uploaded. Now, you have uploaded and extracted a folder to your blog or website directories. That way, you will secure your blog and never upload infected files. If you want to delete something and are unsure if it is safe to delete, try renaming the file or folder instead. This way, your website will think the file is gone, but it can easily be restored by renaming it back to the original name.
