I don't get it I erased it and it's still downloaded again when I reopen Safari. In my "downloads" folder the file appears like 70 times That's in the hidden library as discussed above. Remove Downloads. Try Safari again. User profile for user: fsmits Question: Q: Safari keeps downloading a file.

This is a great, clever solution to the problem. In my case, I'm not worried about whether the DMG is dangerous, but the fact that in the course of a day or a week, I'll have dozens or hundreds of unwanted DMGs which I have to manually delete and empty the trash.
