However, I have some good news. You'll also need to add the appropriate library references. EDIT: if you want the full code for save as, you can find it Here. The files are very large, sometimes exceeding the 65, row limit, which I could avoid if the data was split out coming in. Thanks abe. The File Is Locked.

Hi all, I've been getting this error on occasion recently. Is there a way, perhaps through VBA, that I can not allow a user to save while somebody else is opening the document? Other suggestions on how to avoid this error? I have workbook in which I want to save a specific worksheet to a new file with only the values saved - all data in this worksheet are references to cells on another worksheet, which is using VLOOKUP to pull data from a database.

Found the following code and it gets me close, but it copies the cell references, not the values. It also allows me to specify the file name from a cell reference. I want the new workbook file to simply be saved, not opened, and a message box to display stating where the file was saved will always be in the same location on the LAN.

What modifications do I make to this to get this to work per above requirements? Range 'B2'. Text Sheets 'Sheet3'. Copy ActiveWorkbook. Workbook A has a cell that gets data from workbook B as an external link. It does this using the indirect function because it needs to concatenate the path and filename from other cells.

So can indirect work using closed external files or must the external files be opened? Is there a clever way of making that work?

Do While Ie. I automating a task at work that will save some time. Seems simple enough but for some reason the code I have to cause IE to wait unil ready doesnt seem to work in all cases.

Im using : 'wait until the page loads Do While ie. Busy Or ie. Any other ideas as to how to make IE wait until the page is completely ready? I wondered about possibly checking the. Thanks, Scott. Hey guys, I'm trying to write a macro which prints to PDF and saves the file name as the contents of a cell. I've been looking through all the posts currently on this forum to get something working.

Range 'Z1'. I want the macro to automatically name the file with the contents of cell Z1. I then want it to then automatically press enter. Any ideas where I'm going wrong? Any help would be much appreciated! I have an excel file sitting in a shared network folder. I only want one user to be able to make changes at a time any other users would get a read-only. For some reason it currently does not do this, and I have multiple users with the same doc open.

I have a question, when i download multiple files through link, the files are getting download but it is corrupted. Links are from google drive. No, the above macros will not work with websites that require logging. Those cases require a different approach. Check, for example, this code for logging.

I need to download recordings from my dialer, will it work if so what I need except Microsoft Excel on my system. Sorry to ask a very basic question. As long as you are using Windows, then Excel is the only software that you will need.

Just download the sample files, add your URLs, specify the download folder and click the download button. Please log in again. The login page will open in a new tab. After logging in you can close it and return to this page. Thank you Mark ,must be missing the same thing. I am not on my desk at my desk so Apologies I could not find if your solution is right, but I am sure you are pointing at correct thing The website that I was trying to download data needed a Login ,password for obvious reasons.

As our code does not need IE to start , I could not add login password here. Is is possible to add a code which will add them?

The login need is the point you should start your subject with … And in this case I hadn't post an answer … So you have to pilot IE and it's not easy for a VBA newbie! You must do a research and learn how to pilot IE …. Hi, riyaj! Marc L said:. You must log in or register to reply here. Excel Articles Latest reviews Search Excel articles.
