Then I downloaded the Kitkat update. Every game that I had installed to the external SD card failed to open, or failed to even appear in the app drawer. No longer can I move apps to the external sd card. I constantly have to remove and re-seat the sd card to get it to be recognized. Just this morning, I booted it up and tried to install some app updates from the Google Play store and I'm getting an error, "can't install to usb storage or external sd".
So what to do? Every time I see this tablet sitting on my counter I get a bad taste in my mouth. I despise it now. Do I need to root it and fix it myself? If I root and fix the sd card problem as is shown on the xda tegra note forum, I will void my warranty. So sad. Yes after rooting you can still get ota updates, if its the same root way the shield has. Xphyle said: Man.
It's not like this was surprising to everyone. Like Nvidia, Google, or Microsoft probably even care about their customers wants. Getting more like Apple every day.
I still have 4. I have learned not to install updates until they work correctly. If Nvidia or who ever does not fix this SD card problem it will hurt the sales of this tablet. I will do my best to steer anyone I know away from it.

My battery lasts longer again. I can say now that KitKat 4. Ah so u got the supertool to work? I did not use rootjunky's supertool. ITS not working for me too. Maybe because its made for kitkat. I just did it manually as instructed in the nvidia developer site. All you need from rootjinky's supertool is the ADB and Fastboot files and the root image if you want it to root it later. What I did is put the ADB files, Fastboot, root image and the recovery factory image from nvidia in 1 folder.
Then from that folder, I opened the cmd. Type "adb devices" there should be a device that it detects, if none check your drivers. Then I followed the script in the instruction from the recovery image. BTW, if you type in "adb fastboot devices", it cancer detect your device but your device should be detected as adb devices. Nice but can u write a more detailed guide how to do it exactly?
