Android relocate downloaded app to sd card

If you wish to move an app back to the internal memory, hit the Change button again and select Internal Storage. This feature is called Adoptable or Flex Storage, and it allows you to format a microSD card to act like added internal storage.

There are a few factors to consider before enabling this feature. Any data present on the microSD card will be erased when you format it as internal storage, and from that point, it will be unusable in other devices unless you reformat it again. Navigate to settings on your phone.

If the system determines that your microSD card is too slow it will prompt you with a warning here that it will degrade performance. And the moving process is actually pretty easy since you just drag and drop items from one side to another. Just make sure you leave those system files alone! These are isolated cases, though. And this can be really frustrating and make you say a lot of not-so-nice-words about the phone and the folks who made it like this. Click and hold on the yellow border and drag it to the left until you get the approximate size you want for your data. To do this, tap the menu button three vertical dots in the upper-right corner of the screen. Make sure the first three check boxes are all selected. So, data files for apps installed on the SD card will still be stored on the internal storage. Use the back arrows at the top of each screen in Link2SD to go back to the previous screen. You can also use the back button on your device. Any files you transferred from your PC to the SD card are on that partition.

Word is also taking up a total of MB of space on the internal storage. However, we can get beyond that limitation. We open Link2SD and scroll in the list of apps until we get to Word and tap on it. Notice the white box being called out on the image below.

That indicates how much space is being used by the app on the internal storage. The orange box below that shows the amount of space the app is using on the SD card. We want to move as much as we can of that MB to the SD card as possible. It just seems to be there as a convenience for apps that can normally be moved to the SD card, so you can use Link2SD as a general app manager. This will make everything much more convenient, as you no longer have to worry about where to put apps and files.

Your internal storage and SD card will turn into one conglomerate. Turning your microSD card into internal storage has its downsides. Furthermore, the phone will also only work when said microSD card is inserted.

Removing it will trigger a factory data reset. Aside from turning your phone and SD card into slaves to each other, you might also have to worry about performance. SD cards can be slow. Lastly, not every phone out there supports this feature, even if it has expandable storage.
