I have run the game frequently with a group and the system is efficient and allows for fast and exciting action scenes without being over complicated.

It is this fast learning curve and versatility that captures the essence of a true science fiction roleplaying game. If you have the slightest interest in sci fi, pick it up and have a look! As you layer on the various options you get a real feel for the character and its history.

I've never played a game that got me that involved and invested with a character even before play begins. But better still, the material invokes a sense of nostalgia for so many space-based books, movies, and tv series. As a sci-fi buff, and a bit of a science geek, I loved reading through this for the detail, as well as the mood setting of it's examples of play.

The PDF upgrade is completely free. As yet there is no hardcover version. I bought the pdf to check it out, and now I think I'd like the hardcover. Any way to get that discounted to reflect previous purchase of the pdf?

Same question for O. I don't think that this is a useful answer to the original question. It would indeed be helpful if money spent on the PDF would be discounted when buying the physical copy later. But I'm reluctant since I'm paying twice for them if I later decide to buy the hardcovers as well which I normally do if I like the system. So guess what - I only bought one book right now, which is probably bad for me and bad for the publishers I just purchased this system and have been reading through it very excitedly.

However, I was a little unsure at first because of the 3 star review on this site. Hey, I have a very small issue with the pdf. Even when completly zoomed out, so I can see the full page, I can see blurry spots and make out the pixels in the pictures. I do not have this problem with any other RPG pdf, not even with the one for O. Is there any chance of a Printer friendly version of the PDF. As I read it, you need to buy hardcover to get all the books bundled.

Is that right? I got my physical copy in the mail and I am impressed at how good the standard printing is. It's nearly as good as the premium printing. In a way I couldn't really tell the difference when I set this book down next to a premium color book I had already gotten from here.

The color turned out extremely well. The only thing is that the overall look and quality of the physical book itself is marred by someone dropping my book and it landing right on the bottom corner of the book, squishing the corners in and making it all wrinkly.

Original electronic Scanned image These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching.

However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background. For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high.

It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable.
