The bottom-line is Kanithan is a one time watchable action thriller, if the makers trim down the songs, the film might get a 'hit' status. If you manage to tolerate the first 30 minutes of Kanithan, which are nothing but quite boring and monotonous romantic sequences, you are in for an exciting next 90 minutes in the movie with interesting twists and turns transcending you into the world of counterfeit certification.

Santhosh has laced a good screenplay by gathering various real-life stories and come up with a solid source material which keeps you on the edge of your toes for most part of its running time. The pre-interval block pans out nicely with a superb stage set for the second half. Atharvaa as the brainy reporter shines his role as Gowtham and Catherine Tresa as Anu just serves the purpose of the role. One could easily draw comparisons between Kanithan and various AR Murugadoss films including the screenplay and editing pattern thanks to the long-standing tutelage of director Santhosh under ARM.
