The forward motionallows the excavated earth to flow into the bowluntil full. The apron is then lowered and the bowlraised so that the material can be transported tothe required place.

To unload the scraper the apronis raised and the rear of the bowl tailgate is pushedor tilted to eject the material in an even layer. The scraper is operated via a crawler tractormounted winch assembly called a cable controlunit which operates the scraper functions viasteel wire rope and pulleys.
